The best way to understand them is to go and buy a good maths text book to be honest. Or if you are still at school - ask your math teacher

a vector is a line segment. to the stupid, a vector is a line. (but by definition, a line extends forever. A vector is a line segment)

A vector image is an image defined by lines and points, as opposed to individual pixels.

morales, you wont really need to care much about vectors in your programming. you wont gain anything, and if you think your ability to program lies in knowing what a vector is, you aren't a programmer at all.

and learn to spell!

e.e..e the real definition of a vector is:"A vector is an oriented line segment"

then it mean that a vector is represented by: a direction and a power (lenght of the line segment)

then....if a thing..is affected by a vector...it will move..

ex:a boat on water... and wind (vector)

ok .. a wind (10km/h) at 45 degree
and the boat at 0,0 with NO FRICTION =)

then .. convert the vector in ...coordinate.. it do:
(7km on X)/h
(7km on y)/h

then...after ..you do what you want..

ex: after 10 minutes ..where will be the boat..

X=7km/h * 1h/60m * 10=1m
y=7km/h * 1h/60m * 10=1m

then ..your boat will be at (1,1) ..after 10 minutes....

ive learn so much in that "physique 054 534" course
