Ok I want to start off with a little thing and that is...Im not ranting or raving about religion so don't worry I'm actually ranting and raving about fox and how much I hate them. Recently I saw the "Serenity" movie and it was one of the best movies I also bought, after much deliberation and realizing that I loved the show, Firefly the complete series and I have suddenly experienced an emotion never felt before...Nostalgia...When you go back and watch a firefly episode you realize that you'll never get a TV show as good as this again because stupid TV networks like fox cancel the good shows for silly reasons like not enough ratings....Everyone I know who has ever seen firefly has loved the series so I don't see how it got bad ratings, its a very popular show. So anyway if anyone has anything to say about firefly, Wanting a new season of firefly now that the movies done so well, Serenity the movie itself or just plain bit**ing about how stupid fox is- Do it here because it would be interesting to know if people agree with me on the subject of fox being COMPLETE MORONS.
Anyway love to hear your opinions and if your a fox employee well.....I don't mind your companies other shows I just wish you ahdnt dropped the only good SCIFI one, I mean even enterprise got more seasons then firelfy and it sucked.

If you want to see some quality programming, watch MTV. I never watched anything on there until a few weeks ago, and damn, now I know how the rest of the world gets its horribly warped perception of America. MTV makes Fox's choice of programming look like PBS.

You still can't knock House, though.

TV sucks. Well, except for...

Lost
American Chopper
World of Stupid

That's about as much as I watch these days. I miss the older shows, so if it's not the above then I tend to watch UK Gold - but really, American TV has all this cool stuff right now, stuff that us lowly brits etc have to download to see within the next year or so. Like 'Lost', frankly the most rivetting series for years, and it goes on for ages, 1 episode a week for 25 weeks!. I got a mate to make up some Lost DVD's for me and me and my bro watched the whole series back to back over about 3 days - now we're aching for series II, and we have the choice of either waiting for umpteen months or nabbing a download . They should release DVD box sets when they first show a pilot episode in the UK, because I'd happily spend a lot of cash on stuff like that to avoid a wait.

It is a real shame when your favourite show goes down, sorta like your fave band breaking up or your fave movie star having a stroke - it's never the irritating ones that suffer, like where's that Timberlakes horrible disease and just how many 'Fat-Funny dude married to hot chick' sit-coms can people watch?. And what happend to 'Titus' thant was a classy show, really funny and a really strong and talented cast - one series then bye bye, gotta make room for Joey and that horrible 'Mad About You', not mad about them, just mad, NOW GIMME A KNIFE!.

Don't get me started on House, that git Hugh Laury has eeked his way behind the other Hugh's like the slime in their trail - frankly we don't need to see another twitchingly arrogant idiot on our screens - you American women need to see some of the unriveled tripe he's been involved in to understand.

Is that a rant?

24 is an awesome show, family guy rocks, alias was good b4 they ran out of moronic twist plots, 99.98% of all reality shows are gay nock-offs of the other .02%, over there on FX is pretty dam good, south park is still a classic in my book...

there's more to ratings than what the critics say. For a network to make a profit, they need to sellto advertisers and sponsers and such. With shows like firefly, while it was a good show, it wasn't attracting the desired numbers of people at the time. Saddly, when it doesn't attract people, sponsers stop paying and the show gets cancelled. So a note to the world: YOU GET WHAT YOU WATCH! STOP WATCHING JUNK LIKE AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 1000000! THESE PEOPLE ARE FORGOTTEN IN A MONTH!

(Oh, yeah...Go Simpsons!)

I heard on the news the other day that the writers plan to make 6 series (25 episodes each). And even they don't know what the twist is yet (they are going to wait until the last series). So that is about, ummmm, about 100 hours (40 mins per show after ads?) before knowing where they are (ie. are they dead?). I admit I like it, but grief.... plus everyone will have guessed pretty much every possibility before it ends so they will have to make up some pretty lame excuse, or use somebodies guess.

I'm still steaming about Darkplace (unsuprisingly - I swapped my signature spinning skull avatar for Garthy boy). If you have never heard of it then : Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace was originally filmed in the 1980s and has since earned a cult reputation as one of the most terrifying and radical television programmes ever made. Despite this, none of the episodes have ever been seen before now (although the show enjoyed a brief run in Peru). http://www.garthmarenghi.com/

Cheers

Hey, King of Queens is not that bad!

The shows I watch regularly are Conan O'Brien, Seinfeld reruns, true crime shows on A&E, and Sopranos reruns. Everything else is just crap.

I hate, hate, HATE shows where the laugh-track is so bleedin' obviously FAKE. For example, That 70's Show is the most overrated show in syndication. Fez walks into the room (HAHAHA), Ashton Kutcher walks into the door (HAHAHA), Red drinks a beer (HAHAHA).

I saw Ricky Gervais on Conan about a week ago and he was saying he would watch American sitcoms when he was growing up--- shows like M*A*S*H. He said there was no laugh-track, but when he watched it in the U.S. it had laughs galore. There's something to be said about how easily amused Americans are when they're being told when to laugh every 5 seconds.

The funnies shows IMHO are the ones without the laugh-track. Shows like the Office (Enlish or American version), Mind of a Married Man, Curb Your Enthusiasm, etc. Those can be side-splitting.

Best program in ages. Hugh Laurie is a god. Although he should bring back his 80's power US accent from years ago. Class...

And Mash is totally weird with the laugh track after growing up without it (loved Mash).

Episode 4 of Season 2 airs wednesday night on our ABC channel... the season so far has been just as good as the first, if not better. It has a way of sucking you in and making you HAVE to watch it next week because its ripping out your insides about whats going to happen next.

Since I work at night though, I just download the episodes HDTV ripped on bittorrent. They are usually out just a hour or so after the initial east coast airing.

As for Titus, damn I loved that show. Yet another show that Fox sacked though. Apparently the DVD set of all 54 episodes is out, I've just yet to order it yet...

Where did the rumour of the Lost dudes being dead come from?

Their not dead, or in limbo or anything like that - and they ain't gettin off that island - it's only on like episode 14 of series 1 in the UK, Charlie and the pregnant chick have just been kidnapped. Things get a bit strange from here on, hope it continues with series 2.

One of the best things about Lost is how everyone has their own theories, can't wait till series 1 is over so I can start talking about it without spoiling it for folk. Most of my friends are hooked on it.

It becomes VERY strange from the word go in season 2.

I think the fact that there seems to be a lot of connections between the survivors from before the plane crash and it is almost as though they are attoning for sins or guilt from the past is the fuel for all the 'they are dead and waiting for judgement' ideas.

If you watch Paramount Comedy at 9:40pm weeknights, "A Bit Of Fry and Laurie" is on. Maybe if you're lucky, they'll show an episode where it's the Utoxeter Health Centre where both Fry (Peter) and Laurie (John) put on their best 80s power American accents. It features this classic, albeit rather simple line:

Speaking about his divorce from his wife, 'I came home one night, she mocked me about our marriage, our son, our future. There was a gloating in her eyes.... I lost it John and I emptied a large bowl of trifle over her head'

'So she got custody?'

'Very'

*sigh*

Quote: "Mad About You was awesome..."

Mad About You is funny in the same way as 'King of Queens' is funny... in that it isn't. I still watch it tho...

Now, "Everybody Loves Raymond" there's a classic show. I wonder how he'll manage to aggravate his wife this week.

New 'n' Improved sig details how little I accomplish
