I thought I´d set up this thread so we can share our guesses as to what Lee is working on. Personally I think it comes down to a new ultra secret DBPro beater but not quite DBPro2 but something else entirely OR getting DBPro´s code to compile under gcc. Any other suggestions?

My signature has been erased by me because it's LARGE.
Thank you for the votez!1!

Well, it can't be something else entirely, otherwise it wouldn't be a DBP beater. Perhaps written again from scratch, but then would be DBP2.

Hmmm. I'll go with DBP multiple platform compilation. With a capital X (360 of them indeed).

But realistically I reckon it's more like something *utterly* different. Like when the driving instructor stuff came out. Bike instructor perhaps?

Secret? He's spending full-time on Dark GDK now. Hardly secretive.

Although why he's spending more time on it, I guess that might be something of more debate.

Also what's up with Ravey's project... 18months and still a well kept secret. heh

If there was a secret project, I wouldn't have a clue, uuuhh....DBP with life commands like;

order pizza pizza number
position pizza mouth number, pizza number
execute Bill Gates

but seriously now, he's prolly only doing DB related stuff

That wasn't developed in-house though. I.e. it didn't detract from Lee or Mikes time.

I'll tell you this much, it's certainly not a cross-platform / gcc based version of DBPro!

Nor is it "DBPro 2". When development on that starts there is no way it'll be a "secret project", we will want as much input / suggestions / direction / testing from you lot as possible.

Cheers,

Rich

Taken, but not with the tools suggested. It simply involves some jet fuel and eating a large red candle.

^_^ if you guess where the quote is from, then you'll find it fits perfectly with the geeky theme.

heh I love that episode.

"What!?! No I mean why are we HERE. As far as I can tell we're in a box canyon in the middle of nowhere, with no way in or out.
We built a red base over here, becuase they have a blue base over there and they built a blue base over there because we have a red base over here."
"Yeah. That's cause we're fighting each other."
"No, but what I mean is.. if we were to pull out today then they'd have 2 bases in the middle of a box canyon. Whoopdy-freaking-do!"

heh ^_^

Actually, technically since raven began his retort's sentence with an "and", I'm going to have to say jimmy wins this round.

But since that english rule of no starting sentences with conjuctions is stupid, keep battling.

Heh, I was actually thinking of calling him Mr. Begins-sentences-with-and, but figured the majority of the board was intelligent enough to pick that up without my pointing it out.

He's programming a super-girl-a-tron 2005, an app that automatically replies to any posts asking if there are girls on the forum with multiple 'wink' smilies and plans to meet up later on msn for a bit of 'how's yer father.'

To be honest, I wish it were true, any girls that are here hardly ever post, it's as if I'm the only one.

*waits for predictable "ur not comedian" post*
But I'm not trying to be funny. It's true.

Whats all this nonsense about DBPro2? For god's sake, whats the problem with DBPro1?

If there is to be a major, and I mean major, upgrade, then why not just sell it as a further version of DBPro? After all, Microsoft do that with Visual C++, etc. If there was a further major version of DBPro in the offing, I'd pay reasonable money for it.

Wouldn't have been a retort without it though. So the issue lies in the inconsistency of the english language. Using the word "also" or "along with" just wouldn't have had the same punch to it.

Point though, should be that as he didn't provide a context to how something is out of my league as well as abbrieviation with out peroids. It has the same standing.

That aside, I'm surprised he even understands the concept behind the humour in Red vs. Blue. Given how his seems to be based out trying to humiliate other people with some sly comment.

There's a fine line between being funny and being a jackass. It's a shame that your eye sight is pretty poor.

That's not language, that's literature. Ya moron.

RvB as I used it was not an abbreviation without periods, but a proper name.

I think you just read what I said wrong and are now pulling crap out of your butts (yes, the one below and the above) to cover said butts.

Ya moron.

Context is part of the grammar of a sentence. Without it, then it would make no sense. Literature would be the way in which the information is presented.

It would of course need to make sense first. This would bring you neatly back to my first point.

"RvB" isn't a 'proper' name.
You can't blame me if you're unable to express yourself correctly to everyone else, I believe that was my original point.

SimAnt Rocked!
There was SimFarm, SimEarth. SimZoo, etc.

My favourites always have been Ant, Tower, and City. TheSims is a totally different game to the rest. More hands on.

Yeah, it's quite eerie huh? - my neice is helplessly addicted to the Sims series. The thing is though, I was quite attached to my little buddy in Little Computer People on the C64, like a sectioned house with a little dude living in it, you had to help him stay healthy and happy - much like the sims, funny how things can change so much yet not change at all.

Ravey's secret project is a major mystery, I'd love a peek over his shoulder to see what he's upto - I think TGC should let the mods in on it, just so we feel special .

heh. Think the question is more, could people be trusted to keep it secret.

Rich made a comment about something last week while we were talking, which gives me the impression I know what he's working on.
Definately damn curious given there's nothing about it ever said.

I won't say here, because if I've right... then you'll never know, cause they won't admit it, and if I'm wrong it'll just cause hype for something that isn't real. heh if that makes any sense.
