Is there a program somewhere that will make the user of one of my games have to install the game before playing it? This will really help with saving purposes. And is it possible to create a game icon for the desktop? I am getting bored with the sight of the grey icon!

you can google search for installer. I think this is the one i have used http://www.clickteam.com/English/install_creator.htm. if this is the one then it compresses all the data you tell it to install into one installation programme therefore they cannot use any parts until it is installed if that what you mean. you can also choose to create a shortcut in the start menu and desctop through the installer packages.

Im sure there is laods of free icon creating pieces of software out there i made one with a very basic one that come as part of liberty basic ([href]www.libertybasic.com[/href]). Then to add the icon to the shortvut right click on the shortcut and go to properties and it can be changed in their. Also i think you can select the icon used with the installer package i showed u, as long as that is the 1 i used :S

The Microangelo icon creator (google it) suite is the most popular of the available icon creation tools, and (if you'd bothered to search the forum) you would see that there have already been many, many threads with people asking how to change the icons of their EXE.

Personally, I recommend Resource Hacker as you actually get to see everything that's going on.

Close to the bottom of this page you'll see a tile that says "Forum Search" and a box under that where you can type in words to search for.
