I'm sure many of you heard of this already:

http://gc.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=5883

But the concept is pretty funny. Some random bits:

Quote: "Osaki [O.K] gets "justice" by taking out this female CEO, whose name is Paula Eibel, along with her husband and kids. "An eye for an eye," says O.K., as he urinates onto the severed brain stems of the Eibel family victims"

Quote: "With the FBI now after him, O.K. keeps moving westward, shooting up high-tech video arcades called GameWerks. "Game over," O.K. laughs. "

Quote: "Of course, O.K. makes the obligatory runs to virtual versions of brick and mortar retailers Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Wal-Mart to steal supplies and bludgeon store managers and cash register clerks. "You should have checked kids' IDs!" "

He may probably flop on his face and have his game turned into a 10-year EA franchise, but it'll entertaining nonetheless.

The future is here, and I can't afford it.

Yep, posted it a couple of days ago.

Actually sounds like a game I'd play

Quote: "Haha. Will I get the money if I make it?"
No. It goes to charity. But you would get the money from the sales obviously (already well known around the web).

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

10k$ is a pathetic amount compared to what the gamers give to charity which is over half a million dollars in toys and cash to children’s hospitals all over the country.

By the way, that guy is a hypocritical abusive nutcase who should be thrown in the loony bin. I know someone who sent an e-mail to him, didn't send anything abusive, just about gamers giving more to charities, explaining that murderers blame games to get out of life in jail etc. Only to get an abusive phone call with many threats. (Although he was a bit dumb attaching his phone number to his sig but still.)

He obviously just wants a game made for him to allow him to carry out his own fantasies. Therefore by his standards he is a murderer in the making and not only that it will be premeditated.

I think violent video games SHOULD be clamped down on, so I totally agree with this guy. He is being deliberatley hypicocritical by the way. An interesting publicity stunt for his cause, if nothing else.

I'm sick of seeing FPS games all the time, and hearing 11 year old kids talk about GTA and how it was cool running over people etc.. - the industry needs better censorship and it needs to take a bit more responsibility, me thinks.

Feel free to kill me now, violent game lovers.

Katie and Drew return!!!

He IS a violent nutcase. End of story. The threats he put on my mate proves that he is an utter moron. He has no right to put all the blame on the game creators, the blame lies with the stupid parents who BUY the violent games for there kids despite the huge "18!" label on the front and back and the shop clerks who SELL games to kids without checking their age.

ALL games have clear labels on the back of the game with the case, if parents don't know this then they should bloody learn it. Also they should at least teach the kid the difference between reality and fiction, this where the blame should lie for all these crimes based on video games.

Also remember blaming video games is now the new "get out of jail free card". Used to just be "i am insane"

For example:

To blame the violent crimes on any form of entertainment media is just wrong. What about movies? Music? Even books! Music is FAR more influental on the kids attitudes and violence than ANYTHING else yet he places the blame only on computer games. Why? He is bitter pratt. Probably bought a GTA game and couldnt get it to work.

haha that dude is a bit of a tard, i love what penny-arcade have got going about him, seriously his claim "oh they killed people while in a dream like state, it was pretty much an extension of the game".a dream like state??? in otherwords they were off their faces on drugs and were probably picked on at school or had some shoddy life that drove them to kill someone. But i love the penny arcade bit where he links the games where you save lives an dbe a hero lawyer

Jack Thompson rescinded his offer. Turns out a bunch of GTA modders created the scenario. Slashdot made a funny point that perhaps Mr. Thompson was afraid he'd have to sue himself? Hehehe.

This is what Tycho from the penny arcade wrote:

Quote: "You know what, Jack? We're going to be the men you're not. You said that your insulting, illusory ten thousand dollars would go to the charity of Paul Eibeler's choice. We've got a good guess that he'd direct your nonexistant largesse toward The Entertainment Software Association Foundation, a body that has raised over six point seven million dollars over the last eight years. We've just made the donation you never would, and never meant to. Ten thousand dollars' worth. And we made it in your name."

I think Jack Thompson has offically labelled him self f******* of the year. Still think the git should fork over that 10k to charity... but since he is an arrogant nutcase I guess we saw it coming..

Quote: "rental games should be 7-day for E rated, 6-day fot T rated and 5-day for M rated"

that's a stupid idea, in fact, most of those

AO - equivilant to Movies rated "NC-17", can't rent/buy the game unless you are 18 or older

M - equivilant to Movies rated "R", can't rent/buy the game unless PARENT is present (not older brother/friend, but parent)

T - equivilant to movies rated "PG-13" can't rent/buy the game unless you are 13 or older

then "EVERYONE" and "EARLY CHILDHOOD" is an easy one

I don't understand why they have M games and they're selling them to 10 year olds, it's stupid, my friend walked in and bought GTA and was only 15, they didn't even think twice.

it's stupid

I'll give you some toast
My BLOG really sucks...

He really should read more about himself.

even better!

Quote: "M - equivilant to Movies rated "R", can't rent/buy the game unless PARENT is present (not older brother/friend, but parent)"

Again, better!

Quote: "T - equivilant to movies rated "PG-13" can't rent/buy the game unless you are 13 or older"

Actually, you missed one- E10+, which is basically what Rachet and Clank should have been rated (the 3rd one, not 1 or 2)

Quote: "then "EVERYONE" and "EARLY CHILDHOOD" is an easy one "

of course

Quote: "I don't understand why they have M games and they're selling them to 10 year olds, it's stupid, my friend walked in and bought GTA and was only 15, they didn't even think twice."

More sad- my friend actually has it, and he is 14, and looks a year younger!

Okay, yes I was Funky Cheese. Now stop asking!
