I guess not. I thot u meant you had a demo of teh enhanced version. If you buy it, u might as well get if from amazon.com; i did a few months back. It's v 1.12 enhanced, tho if u install another patch the enhancements will go into demo mode and disable themselves in 30 days. I made that demo without the patch and i still dont think im missing much from not having the 1.13 patch or whatever. it was only 20 wehn i bought it and its 18.99 now. A bargain! Cheaper than buying it from here (no offence tgc! I love you guys )

Well I killed the alien, but with the sounds and not knowing where the thing is at first, it actually scared the crap outa me lol. Took me like 3 tries. For a little short demo, there is a lot to it. A good waterfall, the bullets leave marks where they hit on the walls in stuff. Seemed like the gun had a kickback too, or maybe I'm just retarded.

Pretty sweet demo, you should extend off it a little bit, if your up for it.

I never got to make my comments on the game besides how hard it was to kill it.

I really like the graphics, the water, and how the texture of the alien changes each time you shoot it. It's really cool and challenging. I like it.

I just wish I had more time to look around, before the monster attacks! I want to see what the area looks like, because it looks good. I wonder what lies on the other end of the hallway the monster comes from.

Ufo, just let the crazy alien chase you while you constantly run backwards and shoot him. If you keep running backwards, it can't keep up. I'm suprised you even got to see that much before you killed the alien. The only think I could see before I killed it was the shotgun with no hand lol (hands are pain to make plus it's a demo so I'm not trying to knock you for that devastation 328 )

I could still see the water and a little bit of what is behind the alien, but not very well, so I wouldn't be able to see much even if I am running backwards from the monster.

you can hang around a bit after you kill it

plenty of time to notice all you'd like. I even put in code (as teh source code reveals) so they have to hold the escape key for about a second before it closes, giving plenty of time to change their mind and poke around a bit

good luck. if you really cant beat it you can open up the source code file, open the cli and make health#(0) = 30409324 or somethin like that

Ok. I will just have to wait until I get the enhancements. And there is no way I am fast enough to kill it. I suck at 3D games. I am better at 2D space shooting type games.

probably no progress for a while guys. just finished backing up everything to dvds, and I'm gonna completely redo my comp and use the restore cds i got from hp so i wont be able to work on it for a few days.

ouch. stupid deled. it will be an enemy in our game!

i've made a glorious victory over all the sh*t hp puts on their restore disks (it's like going to serialz sites without a firewall!) Everything from aol to wildTangent... but I've come out on top. I spent all today and early yesterday (afternoon, by my weekend standards) completely redoing the code. It's alot more mathematical now, and it's got the coolest feature ever put into a darkBASIC game. I'll let it be a surprise till I release a demo. I've rebuilt it with almost everything but AI scripting and echoing sound.

I also figured out why the ground was glowing with 15 ambient light: light 0. type hide light 0 somewhere into the first demo's source code and you can play it like it was meant to be played.

Here are some of the features so far

My secret awesome one

crouching (with upward raycasting so you dont pop thru the top
of vents or anything )

amazingly smooth jumping (feels just like CS 1.6 as does the crouch)

acceleration when you start walking (like in source)

visible bullets (I love it, i'll take it out if you guys dont)

blood splats (done like the bullet holes, but bigger)

bullet holes (and every sixth one has the bullet still in it, kinda
cool)

and I've got a completely new way of scripted events and AI: the woods will be like a large area with dynamic pathfinding and stuff, where you have to hunt around for stuff or save soem people and then go to the exit of the woods. other levels will be more tunnel like, and have a series of planar objects throughout, and they will be for scripting. the loop would check for intersecting that trigger, and once triggered, the events would happen and the event number would go up one, and the loop would check with that event numbers object number. The AI would be triggered by these events in these kind of levels.

I'm gonna do a little level myself just for the WIP post. It will be of the tunnely sort, and I'm not sure the theme yet, tho it probly wont have anything to do with the game.

some trees would be super. I tried making one in my newly licensed Milkshape 3d and it looked like a fork . Not that I dont like forks, but yeah.... we'd love your help.

Almost done witha reasonable demo!!! It's coming along great. There are now 3 weapons: a pistol, the ak from the holiday models pack, and the rpg from darkmatter, complete witha missile, smoke particles, and a nice explosion. there are 20 bullets cycling for the pistol and ak and one missile at a tiem for the RPG. There are 25 bullet holes, 10 blood splats, and 2 burns (for the rpg's landing spot). The secret feature has been integrated fully into all this and it is amazing, hate to sound cocky. You are all gonna love it in a couple days. All I have left is to make some enemies to pwn and I'll put the shotgun back in. I'll post the link here.

if you're really mean, strafe in and out of the door under the waterfall

his ai says to go to the other door cause most people will strafe backwards waitingfor him to come into the door under the waterfall.

i forgot I put that in and scared the out of myself

nothing yet. I just had to post it on the wip for no reason. I'm currently making a level in the vague likeness of the bank in The Matrix for some sweet bullet time darkmatter killing action (I'll be using humans for a while in the game)

hey gamesmad, would u be able to remake that goblin they use in the original monster hunt, but with posture and looks a little more like the darkmatter alien mutant? If so, can you animate too?

I completed the level, and its really cool, but DeleD Frickin' KILLED THE FILE AGAIN!!!

oh well. do you want me to try again, and if so can you give me some sort of sketch or something? or do you just want me to make it up?

also the trees suck because if i make good ones then the poly count goes way up and the game will be really slow.
