Are there any software programs capable of telling me all the major specifications of my machine, simply so I don't have to physically check it out. If so, could someone point me in the directions of a free one?

Thanks in advance

Windows has this wonderful feature called a device manager. It is free with the OS. However, I charge $15/hour to tell people like yourself how to open it.

Yeah, pretty much everything.

If you right-click on My Computer you can see your CPU and RAM and some other worthless information on the General tab. Then, if you hop on over to the Hardware tab you can view everything else after you click on the 'Device Manager' button there in der mitte.

You'll be getting a bill for Jimmy's time via e-mail.
If you do not comply to pay within 14days of receiving said bill and he is legally allowed to have thugs break you knee-caps before turning you upside down, shaking you and keeping what falls out.

For those that don't know, if you want processor speed, you right-click My Computer->Properties->General tab.

Or you could always just go.. Start->Run-> Type in dxdiag and press ok.. will give you your processor type + speed, ram, direct x version, video card information etc.

belark advisor and sisoft sandra are two really useful pieces of software for this sort of thing. the normal windows methods have already been desribed. (free versions of both pieces of software i mentioned are available, a search on your favourite search engine should turn up their websites quickly)

was that a joke? there are plenty of softwares for that, almost too many so its hard to decide which one is best.
