I have no clue why I missed out on this movie. I am just that ignorant of the rest of the world. Whatever you're into, you have got to see this.

http://www.e.bell.ca/filmfest/2005/films_description.asp?id=28

Just a quick overview: The movie is all in French (English subtitles). It is based in France in the year 2010 where all the dangerous parts of the city are isolated by huge concrete walls.

If any of you have ever heard of Free-running, this movie is basiclly Free-running in movie form, mixed with amazing fight scenes, car chases and shootings. One of the French inventors of Free-running plays one of the characters in this film, and some of the stunts are completly unbe-f*cking-lievable.

Watch it.

And how do we watch it if we don't live in the Toronto area?

The movie has been out on DVD and *ahem* other forms of distribution since 2004.

The reason I posted the TO films festivel is because it was the first thing that came up on Google when searched for "Banlieue 13". Sorry.

Heh heh yeah. This inspired me to try some of their stunts aswell.

But hey, if I mangle myself, I can always take that movie's producers to the courts and blame it on the movie.

Isn't this the movie that divided the free running community, in particular the 2 founders (David Belle and Sebastien Foucan)? Had something to do with the 'belief' that free running shouldn't be used the way it is in that movie.

I have no clue about that to be honest.

Addressing the fact that "free running shouldn't be used the way it is in that movie" is completly ridicules.

They use it to escape from danger, and a person should be thankfull that the skills they learned may actually help em out in sticky situation one day.

Could be a different film but I read somewhere that it showed them free running around stealing things.

Exeat: None of that in this film. You must be thinking of another one.

Hey, I remember this movie!

The grappling fight with Damien and Leïto was just lunatic.
