Hello again,

I've read through and followed many examples in the book "Beginners Guide to Dark Basic Programming" but I can't figure out how the user can control the cursor to delete what is input, for example the backspace delete does not work.

How is cursor control handed over to the user so typing mistakes can be rectified?

Failing that, how should a loop be written in response to a Y/N confirmation question be written please?

Example in the code bin

Thanks.

I can delete letters just by pressing Backspace.

Also I tried your test $ but it didn't work either. There doesn't seem a way that the user can change anything if a mistake is made. Here is a sample of the program I am trying to create:

Well I have cracked it now.... for the want of the use of backspace...

Taken ages and a little research to work it out.... Hope it'll make me a better programmer for it.

If you're using Darkbasic Pro and you've downloaded the latest update it's because of a bug.

thanks TDK

Have saved the code for the next time. Some reason the code I cracked never got through, so what do you think of this? Perhaps yours is much simpler...

Ye I have the latest DB Pro, and the backspace bug is very naughty!

I'm sure it'll be fixed on the next update... well... I HOPE it'll be fixed on the next update.

The source didn't work because you had newbie status... it looks like your newbie slap is gone though. Really it's best to use code snips.

Your code here.

Just remove the spaces in the brackets and it'll look like this:

The bug seems to be known, and I'd have thought it would be important enough to fix right away...but who knows? I noticed in the Beginner's Guide the important key chart never included the backspace which I thought rather odd at the time!

Anyway not sure if people can read from the source button and was told about this litte trick concerning posting code:

So I reckon this is a good way to get confirmation...

Not to offend you... but TDK's works better.
