How about making a contest where anyone can post games based on Halloween/Scary/Horror. Just post your games here and we'll see who is the best.
Rules
1. The game must be based on Halloween/Horror.
2. The game may be made using any programming langauge.
3. You can only use models you made or found not had someone else make them for you.
We also need judges. I guess I'll be one and we need 2 others.
The first people to say they want to be a judge can be one if they want. If you choose to be a judge then simply rate every game that is posted out of 20.

You should probably have put a little more planning into this before you posted, I'm not saying it's a bad idea, just that there's not much of an idea there.

You might want to re-think your thinking and re-post when you've re-thought your thoughts.

There is something wrong with this forum.. there is absolutelly no reason what-so-ever to get an argument.. especially since there's nothing wrong with a little friendly competition.

Well, I based my opinion on past events.
Competitions are a good thing if they have a point. But here, it's like : "Make a horror game" and then ? ... erm ... nothing.
No time limit, no price, no real challenge. So I could also just decide myself to make a horror game whenever I want, I wouldn't get more because of the compo.
There is much more to say, but ... I will stop here.

Better watch out Data. Before you know it, TGC will announce a Halloween compo in the next newsletter.

@Damokles
ummm, if its no challenge for you at all then why don't you make a game
like this? And if you really want a challenge do it all with your eyes closed.

@Jimmy
Thanks for the warning.....

@ionstream
just in case you don't know in a competition the point of making the game is so that it is better than everyone else's creating another
challenge meaning in competitions there are 2 challenges.
1. Make the game.
2. Make it better than everyone else's.
without the competition the only challenge is:
1. Make the game.

Ya I guess I could have but the deadline doesn't have to be on Halloween
@ionstream
I don't feel like arguing about this. I posted that to show that
I understand that he said it IS a challenge even without this competition, I understood really well, but he was still missing another part of the challenge. That is where you went wrong. I did understand what he was saying but what he was saying was wrong.

And how would that work, I understand the part where you can only use ones u made, but ones u found but not ones you've had made for you? Because there would be more issues to boot from finding models and using them, rather then having someone make them for you.

Oh yeah, and it would appear your compo isn't going anywhere...I'd give it up.
