Well, being as movies are hitting the boards just lately, I thought I would mention The Twins Effect movie.

Basically, It's got the best fight special effects of all time, and that includes all of the Matrix movies, and Kill Bill.

Plus it's really funny.

But subtitled!!!!

Don't let that put you off!!!

Pincho.

There better not be any wire-fighting in this movie.

Wire-stunts suck.

The future is here, and I can't afford it.

I prefer subbed than dubbed, so I don't mind. I'll keep an eye out for it. -_O

Yeah, it's nearly all wire fighting, but it is realistic wire fighting, not floating around the landscape. They show realistic physics most of the time. People climb walls realistically too... not spinning feet against the wall, and such.

If this doesn't encompass crazy theories to do with Einstein's relativity I will be very disappointed. Although, to be fair, that's the 'Twins Paradox'.

Night Watch?

Damn that movies sucks! - it's so miserable and pointless.

I'm sure they had a good idea, but it's too Russian, too subtitled, and too depressing. I was none the wiser at the end of that movie than I was at the beginning - except that some of those gits are vampires, some folk can fight, and some can change into animals, except most of the time they're too depressed to do anything like that. It was not the movie I thought it was going to be.

Twins, please - consider that if your gonna make a subtitled movie, it has to be strong in other areas, like plot, or talent, or not being pointless.

With todays movies, I'm glad there's still 'Lost', it's more entertaining than any movie I've seen this year.

Just saw Kung Fu Hustle (good olde projector). Laughed my self stupid at the knife scene and the picking opponents scene (one at a time, no cheating!!).

Top fighting scenes too.

Cheers

Agreed. Kung Fu Hustle was one of the best movies to come out to the west this year. Steven Chow is a genius

I wish it had had more of a storyline though. It just seemed to stop trying and go for solid fight scenes. Then again they really were good fight scenes so that´s not important. I loved the frenchies fight. The Spanish dubbing was a laugh. They had every strong accent you could fit in. Mexican, Andalucian, Catalun-ian etc Still.
I prefer Shoalin Soccer though. Though that might have been for the Bruce Lee scene. Man. I want to see that movie again.
House of the flying daggershas got to be the funniest martial arts movie. Boomerang daggers anyone? I hope this The Twins Effect is good. I need my tri-monthly kungfu fix.

You can say that again. My god that was bad. I didn´t understand a thing (though that might be partly due to the fact that the subtitles for the second part were out of sync).

If you can call that fighting. All I saw was one slow mo kick and that was about it. I wonder why people are raving about it.

Eh?

Bit too arty tarty if you ask me. Plus all those type of films seem to give me the idea that it will be much more complicated than it actually ends up being. Looks good though. Hero was one of the first films I put on my projector. Amazing. Shame it's a bit boring.

Shame. I thought that was going to be good (only seen previews).

Cheers

Ditto, it looks so cool in the preview, almost like it's some sort of weird time thing where knights battle on top of old skyscrapers etc - that would have been a cool movie. But it's really not the sort of movie that they instigate with the preview - it's more like Leon, but done badly with lots of supernatural shapeshifting and vampire crap.

Kung-Fu Hussle was a quality film, I really enjoyed that - it's good to see kung fu is still a strong genre.

Ah, you see I'm pretty sad when it comes to Vampire films and Time travel films. Weirdly they can do no wrong. And romantic comedies (cough). So, make "When Vlad met Meg Ryan... in 1825..." and I'll be extremely happy.

My lodger actually has Shaolin Soccer on DVD. Will see if I can nick it. Is it as good as KFH (too much typing)?

Personly I think it´s better. Though that my just because I saw it first. It takes a bit to get going. Seems like a low budget 80s movie to begin with. If your anyon´s a fan of Bruce Lee then it´s their duty to see this movie, even if it is only one scene.

Yeah. It promissed to be so good on paper.

P.s Ohh. There´s a upload applet. Must try that.
