Hello all!

I'm going to be travelling to the UK on business and I wondered if anyone was from that area. I will actually probably be all over the place, but that is the main area that I will be at.

Well my home is in somerset, which is in that general direction, but still quite a way from Poole. I'm studying in London at the moment though.

I can only assume (perhaps) that they have businesses there. Either that or Wolf's job is something to do with "the largest natural harbour in Europe!". Whoop...

Cheers

Poole is 70 miles from Chichester, the home of the DB Pro convention.

Are you here on the 12th November?

Well, yes actually. Just you don't have to live there. Although, strangely, I've always seemed to live in totally flat places (apart from that big famous volcano next to Naples, oh and Snowdonia which doesn't count as all the mountains aren't actually on the island).

Hmmm...

I think I am going on the 4th, and staying through around the 11th. I could probably get them to let me leave on the 5th or 6th and come back on the 13th. That would be AWESOME! It would be great to meet all of you crazy brits. It isn't far from where I am going to be at all.
The company I work at has a bunch of equipment being built in the UK. I have to go over and inspect it before they ship it over to the US. I'll probably be doing some traveling while there visiting some of the different manufacturing facilities. I'm not sure where they all are yet, but the engineering company that we are dealing with is in Christchurch (near Poole).
I'll have to see what my work (and my wife) will let me get away with doing. My wife will be home with our THREE kids for a week at that point and probably be at her wits end. Maybe I can even delay the whole trip one week and visit the convention on the 13th. Anyone know if the TGC team is going to be there?

Now it looks like I'm staying in Bournemouth. The chances of me making it to the convention for at least one day are pretty good!

Would be good to see a crazy Yank amonst us crazy Brits

Women are designed to look after children, she'll be fine* We have 3 kids, they are all in Ireland right now, while I'm at home. Trouble is, I have nobody to blame the mess on when they get back.

*This is not a sexist comment. What this translates as is: men are useless at looking after children.

My brother is currently living in Bournemouth. That´s were I was living before I went to Spain. It´s an ok place. If you have seen Shaun of the Dead it looks just like the setting to that movie. A few less zombies though.

Well, the real issue is that my brother-in-law is coming back from Iraq. There is a huge party for him on the 12th. If I stay in the UK then I will have to blow off his party and my wife will have to take the kids with her by her self. I feel pretty guilty about that. BUT... how many opportunities will I get to go to the UK and how strange is it that the convention just happens to be at the same time and NEAR where I will be. All of those coincidences might have to outweigh my guilt

Bournemouth? It reminds me villages names in HP Lovecraft books. Scary...
