Yeah it is hard to single out one. I guess Metroid Prime 2 is the one I play the most.

I've only ever had a PS1 and I loved Gran Turismo, however I haven't bought a console since as I think they're a rip off. You buy 1 console and spend £30 on the games for that console. Only recently have you been able to do internet play. Then, a new console comes out and everyone gets that one and none of your games work on the old one (unless you get a PS) so you have to spend all that money again getting new games.

Get them on PC and they'll work forever (or at least until M$ depricate DX )

I reckon that Half-Life 2 is high up there, but Resident Evil Remake has to be the "fergin' best" (see my sig).

Half-Life 2 was amazing for the play-time, the fun use of physics (You had to just love slicing those zombies in half with the circular blades in Ravenholm ) and the sheer fun of it. It really was a great game, and I just played Lost Coast, which looks quite amazing.

Resident Evil Remake has to be my favourite for 5 reasons; the gameplay was fun, exciting and interesting. The stroyline is amazing, with twists you would never expect first time around (partially, anyway. I suppose that, having played the original, I was expecting the main plot, but those dang Crimson Heads! And don't forget barging through doors...). The controls were improved (I actually prefer "Type C" (Press R to move forward) more than normal game controls), and made that sense of claustrophobia even greater. The obvious suspense, the thrills, and every piece of shock horror that made the Resident Evil name popular. And finally, the sheer challenge of it. It was an incredibly hard game to beat. The first time I played it through, it took me almost 12 hours to finish (My lowest time is about 5:20, close to getting the dang Invisible Zombie mode!), and it still is hard. RE for the Playstation was tough, interesting and scary, but this game was AMAZING. It was BREATHTAKING. It was what Capcom had wanted the first time around: a cinematic horror that really scared you. They did it excellently.

Resident Evil Remake is teh fergin' best!

GoldenEye 007 on the N64, not the waste of a DVD that EA inflicted on us.

[EDIT]Fave moment in that game was in a multiplayer Deathmatch and I'd was down to just proximity mines. Under attack from my brother my only choice was to panic and toss mines at him. SUCCESS! He disappeared into the resulting explosions, never to be seen again... alive at least.

That was an awesome game. Spent endless hours on multiplayer blasting away at my friends. I dusted off the old N64 to play some games a few weeks ago. I remeber the AK-47 looked like a pencil. It was funny. Rogue Agent on Gamecube sucked in every way.

Ooops Nico, he said on consoles! (My fault, I've badly read 'any platform'). Note that ST and Amiga were, like consoles, working on TV screens, so they're consoles with keyboards.

So I say: Atari 2600: H.E.R.O !

Counter Strike Source and HL2 have been taking most of my time in video games.
War Craft III is really good for all the mini games people have made
and Tony Hawk 3 is REALLY fun, the best TH game ever, I finally bought it for my Game Cube, tis a classic

and another boring game to add to the list.

so i realized, that the best game of all time is, Donkey Kong Country, not DKC 2 or 3, but the orriginal DKC (not the orriginal DK)
Beat my time in that game, I'll be surprized, I beat the entire game in 1 hour and 4 minutes 101% (that's what you get when you complete ALL the levels with ALL the bonus levels)

now that game, is a classic

I'm a fan of FPS games on the computer (Anything from the Unreal/UT series), but for consoles the best thing out there is Dead or Alive.

Conflict: Desert Storm 2. Great Missions, character system works well. Each time I play it I find new ways of beating it, it's just so awesome. Also amazing co-op, best from an FPS that I've ever played. (Yes, that includes Halo)

i used to love doom/2 i used up be hooked to making maps for it add hundreds of cacodeamons some rocket launchers , i used to play ut like there no tomorrow great game that was loads of good maps with loads of players very fast action and everything, i also love the battlefield series of games although my pc is kinda incapable of running bf2 now, but i used to play bf1942 alot especially with the desert combat mod, loved flying helis around the place and ive allways loved counterstrike/source although recently i uninstalled it cause i thought i played it too much but ive allways loved fps games, makes you feel like your on the battlefield just without the risk of dying :p

and i dont mind the odd puzzle game, there was this puzzle game i played once but i can vaguely remember what it was, i think you controled a clock arm and you had to swing across points avoiding obstacles or something but that was quite a while ago.

When I as a wee lad the greatest thin gout there was Zelda 64, Ocarina of Time. Majora's Mask was a ton of fun as well, but the epic scale of Ocarina of Time provided many memorable experiences in a fantasy/fairy-tale setting that occupied my young mind for hours on end and made me a permanent-for-life Zelda freak. When Majora's Mask came out my friend grabbed a copy a day early from a clueless Best Buy clerk and he came over and spent the night Friday through Sunday. This excitement and dedication stemmed from unconditional love for Ocarina of Time.

A month ago we (the same friend 8 years later) fired up the 64 again and played through. In 1998 his older brother got him hooked on the game. This older brother only played Goldeneye, and though mario and all that was pretty lame, but Zelda was entrancing to him and he showed us and we became addicted. My friend's older brother never plays videogames, and as soon as he heard the opening title theme starting up this 18 year old who's getting washed up, about to go out riding with some friends and later go to a concert, drops everything he's doing, walks into my friend's room and sits on the floor, mesmerized. We even found a profile of his named "IluvKatie" or whatever, which, while an embarassing example of the stage of life this guy was in when he played this game, only further demonstrates how emotionally connected we were to this game.

Zelda64 is like Disneyland. It's innocent, colorful, beautiful, with a darker side and simple life lessons embedded into the whole experience that heped sulpt it into a legacy that has yet to be matched in general quality, and aesthetic and nostalgic value. It's like guys who grew up in the 70's and saw Star Wars. This game came during a period of development in our lives and presented a world with a rich backstory, characters you never forget and induce strong emotional reactions, and finally an epic plot which only required a few minor twists to keep things interesting it was so good and well-delivered.

It was an epic fairytale of good versus evil with stacking layers of steps of the Hero's Journey which served to lengthen and enhance the playthrough (and anysubsequent playthroughs for that matter). The characters are probably the most memorable. Forever burned into my memory are the quirks of the local townspeople and the fears, hopes, and dreams of your closest friends you make along the path of adventure. I recall vividly the carpenter boss who was a cut and dry, get-things done type of person, but also had an slow inner struggle with the relationship he has with his son. This guy has my favorite quirk, the first time you talk to him he makes this funny shrieking sound, "kaaaaaaaaa!". You can tell, even before the the dialogue text rolls across the bottom of the screen, that he's yelling in disgust at the work ethic of his carpenters who are mosying around Kakariko village complaining about how much their boss overworks them.

Excuse my rambling. If you haven't played this game, you should. Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy 6 7 8 10, Mario64, Donkey Kong 64, Castlevania Symphony of the Night/Dawn of Sorrow/IV, Golden Sun, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, HalfLife, Halo/2, Warcraft 2/3, Guild Wars, Dungeon Siege, Beyond Good and Evil, Sid Meier's Pirates (new release, too young to have played the original), Prince of Persia The Sands of Time, Battlefield 1942, Metroid Prime, Ico, Psychonauts, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath (sadly haven't played Abe's Oddyssey or Exodous), Eternal Darkness, and Jade Empire are also some favorites of mine.

I'm going to eat you!

If you don't accept that the majority of Metal Gear Solid games rock, then you're in denial. The amount of flexibilty in the game allows the possiblity for endless scenarios and fun you can have with the soldiers.

Oh man! Gauntlet : Legends, while my friend and I spent about oh... $200 U.S. on that one day. That was a great game.

Also I forgot about BANJO KAZOOIE and BANJO TOOIE. Those were great games back when Rare was at it's peak.

Xtreme G 1. Some people may have played 3 on the cube but even 2 didn't live up to the original on the N64. Oh crap now I'm having some nostalgia problems. I hate reminiscing about my N64 days sometimes.

*Sobs because sold N64 and games when got Xbox*

Anyway, 1080 snowboarding was great. Hmm, Otogi 2 on the Xbox is nice and you can't forget goldeneye.

God I've played to many games.

I also can't wait for revolution so I can download my old favorites from the N64. [sigh]

Secondly, STARCRAFT. 'Nuff said.
