Information:

This is a map editor program for rpg - style games. It lets you save and load the maps. Below has how to load them.

Progress:

Add Load/Save Feature
Add box mouse icon
Add make box option
Add more tiles
Add Title Screen

Change Input commands to pop-up windows with input boxes.
Add scrolling for larger maps

I have no real use for it as I tend to make my own homebrew ones but I'm sure someone would find it useful.

Would it be possible to make it so you can use images instead of colours, so say you could make a zelda style game. If you do take it that far then make sure you make it so you can give different tile images collison flags etc

I am not done yet, so it isn't extremely useful. Once I finish that stuff, I might make more tiles...

The colors have nothing to do with the map file. It saves the characters you choose for each tile number into a file. Open the sample file with notepad. It is just numbers. You can change it to like grass, forest, and will save those to the file instead.

Cool idea! I will probably work on that when I finish the scrolling for large maps.

Updated code! The tool bar is done now and has the colors for each tile on the tool bar too

Um...can anyone help me with the scrolling part? I am having trouble. I'm not asking for all the code, just some to point me in the right direction.
I can make it move through the map, but I'm having trouble with the math in where the tiles are drawn if scrolling is used. The tiles will always be placed a few tiles away from the cursor and I can't get it to work...
