Well, its nearly time for the Convention - just over two weeks to go.
Which means by now, if you've decided to come, you should have booked a place - if not you had better get one sorted, otherwise it'll be a park bench...
Which in turn leads me to :
If your coming, can you send an e-mail to conventionsrus@nichkk.plus.com, and, if you require an accommodation brochure, give me your postal address and one will find its way to you (hopefully).
The other reason for doing this, is, as some people had difficulty finding the hotel last time, a contact number may be needed for those geographically challenged. Plus, I will also need to know the exact number of people coming.
And for those who dont visit my website for some strange reason, here at this years highlights :
A) Talk by Philip, Mike & Lee, and whoever wants to as well
B) Coding competition is to write a screen saver
C) The first prize is the Intel Programmers Manual books (signed by myself if you like)
D) Other goodies by TGC.
I'll be signing for the loan forms either today or tomorrow - apparently a medical college has "nicked" my reserved projector (apparently borrowed all the projectors that my supplier loans) so they are having to get a new one in.
Whilst you can bring any type of PC, it would be preferable to bring a laptop if you have one - space isn't really a problem, but towers could be a problem if something goes pear-shaped.
There may be an additional first prize in the competition - Drew Cameron is being kind enough to supply a copy of Dumbo & Cool (hopefully it'll get here on time
)
I've signed the loan hire agreements, and 4 laptops & projector will be arriving on Friday.
According to the BBC, the weather for Saturday and Sunday may be sunny but cloudy...
