can any one here run Lost coast?, the HL2 add on?, trouble is I only have 512mb ram, so I am below spec for it, I tried to run it anyway and it just crashes, I just wondered if anyone here had been able to run it in 512mb?, I didn`t expect it to run silky smooth, I just wanted to see what it looked like on my system, oh well, maybe just check out some screen shots instead.

Worked for me with only 512MB with a Athlon XP 2000+ and GeForce Ti4600 128MB graphics card. It also warned I was under spec but things ran just fine but it is way over-hyped unless you have a top of the range system to get all the fancy stuff. Looked just like another HL2 level to me, and a very short one at that.

I have the benchmark.... except for the video card. It ran fine, though. Interesting, but I didn't like being killed by the fishies in the water... .

Runs fine on mine, but I'm running a 7800GTX with an Athlon64 X2 4400+ and a gig of ram. Well... actually... when I say it ran fine - it crashed to the desktop after 30 minutes. I'm not sure if that a bug with HL2:LC or the fact that the graphics card might have been getting a little toasty.. IT crashes similarly in Black and White 2 after about an hour.. Although funnily - it doesn't crash after 2 hours of Live for Speed (a simple game, although I'd cranked it up to max AA and AF).

I have to say - HL2:LC impressed me about as much as HL2 did. Looked lovely... Nice physics... Nice sound (when I eventually got around the surround sound bug with HL2 thats documented in the forums but still not fixed)... Nice AI... Somehow I still got bored... Again. There is something missing that makes it a fun game for me. The problem is - the actual gametype has now been "done to death". Its all the same; turn a corner - shoot someone - pick up their ammo and weapon - use that to kill guy 2 - get ammo and health - kill guy 3 - and so on... Apart from the eye candy, its really quite a pants game overall (IMHO). The physics on that scale have been done before. The sound is nothing new really. The AI aint bad - but its still nothing compared to human opponents. HL2 suffers in PRECISELY the same way Doom 3 did for me (and I can probably garuntee Quake 4 will be the same too). Oh well - I'm probably just hard to please!

umm! I must be cursed with HL2 onwards, now I have downloaded Lost Coast I find that HL2 will not run either, they must have updated the HL engine as well as added the extra level, time to search for people with the same problem (all my other games are still working, it`s HL2 every bloody time ).
