Hi:

Im new to darkbasic..but Im very good at coding in basic, as
i coded before on amiga computers.I picked up db very easily..
hehe i nearly made a new game with it, with just reading the
online help. I found i can make nice games with my experience..but
they are all 2d. I don't have experience with 3d games though, because that is new to me..to code 3d games.Do you think i will
do good if i make a few good games that are not 3d games? Or does
3d became the standard and most popular way to go?

apollo3d,

3D seems to be the most popular.

Start with Move the Cube. Then move the cube and hit other cube. Then get bigger

Link102,

Yes, gameplay plays a huge role. But, many enjoy a good mixture of both.

At least learn 3d because you can use 3d plains as sprites because it's quite a bit faster. Also, 3d can be fun.

Apollo;

To me it is the gameplay that counts, unfortunatly i'm in the distinct minority in that respect today it seems "Chrome" is more important than the gameplay. That said I guess it's your objective that matters, are you looking to break into the game market? if so 3d all the way. If your time is limited and making the game is more important to you do what you do best and perhaps translate it to 3d later. All of the best games I have ever played were 2d. WASTELAND!!!!

p.s. I was a big Amiga fan myself
