Hi

I decided to start doing work again after my long lazy slumber in what some of us refer to as the "Real-world forum". So first order of buisness was to start updating my website again, along with a new layout.

Please note that this is not the complete website as no content is up yet, I merly wanted to get some comments on the design.

Also, I want interested in implementing some kind of Blogging system for dynamic updating, as this is partly a Blog aswell. Suggestions you can make are appriciated, as I'm really noob with that.
Thanks

Haha, love it

However, to make it like a *real* professional website, it needs more Flash-based navigation, broken links, lack of contact information, crappy repeating 5-frame animated GIFs everywhere... You get the idea.

404 here.

[edit - works now. Hmmm. Looks ok. The footer with view legal could do with a different back colour. Get rid of the best viewed at bit - nobody wants to be told to change their resolution just to see a site ]

It's what every website does. And it's true: My site doesn't look proper in 800x600 resolution. If the people with 800x600 don't like it, maybe they should get with the times.

If I COULD make it work in 800x600, I would have. But it just didn't work out.

(Um...sorry if you're 800x600 person )

Ahhh the "About" page is now working. Forgot to change that filename that prevented it from reading.

It's what the bad ones do

A very small percentage of your audience will be on 800x600 - most will be 1024x768+ - for example I'm at 1280 x 1024 - being told I should view the site at 1024 is just annoying

Ah I see the misunderstanding. I meant to put "1024x768 or above". 1280 x 1024 works just fine.

Sorry again, I'll get on changing that.

Looking very nice
it views fine in FireFox, but some gaps appear in Expolorer messing up some lines and the logo.

Great work though

Actually Megatron, I liked your old design better. This just has too many shades of gray for my taste, and we've come a long way since the black and white monitors

See, I like colour too. But when my mood changes, so does my taste for colour. I liked red, then changed it to green, then to light yellow, and finally settled for gray. It's peacful, neutral, and you can't possibly get sick of it.

So can anybody help with the blogging system? I've looked into Wordpress, but have no clue how to deal with any of this stuff.

Is there a "Noob Slap Self" button included with a Mod's control panel?

Click on it as hard as you can.

Is there a rule that mods can't have a sense of humour?

Well, I could help! It isnt as simple as explaining. It also depends on what you want. Do you want a blog system that is INSIDE your template, or on the outside, and is something else? You probably will need a DATABASE, preferably MYSQL. added you to msn.

hosting. Cheap. Your never to young (unless under 16 in the US) to get Hosting!

Megaton - Nice site! I actually like the gray Makes it seem more like print-based media. Keep It Simple, Stupid is the best advice I give and use when it comes to web design. Good job!

Let me know if you need any custom PHP done for your site. If you're looking for an existing blog engine, on my site I use Serendipity because it's open source and free to use: http://www.s9y.org/

@Megaton Cat
Nice site Megaton really well done. I use Dreamweaver and are actually creating a site of my own right now but I need a good template and have NO money to hire someone .

@Jeku
Could you maybe do some custom PHP for me? Only if you are willing to do it for free though. If you agree you will get credit for it on the site when the site opens.

@Data - I would if I had more time, but a while back Megaton designed one of my sites for me for free, so he deserves it.

Actually no, we can't slap or ban ourselves nor can we do those things to other mods.

Hey, thanks alot for the offer Jeku. I'll let you know if I need anything after I've meddled on my own for abit.

Are you experianced with CSS by the way? I am currently attempting to reconstruct that design only in complete CSS. Kinda getting stuck, so if anyone else here might be able to help, get on MSN please.

Thank you.
