The other day I found out that Opera had been released for free so yesterday I decided to download it as I remeber version 7 having good downloading abiltities (it´s pause and resume actually worked). After changing the style to a mimilist look and importing my bookmarks I must say that this is the by far the best brouser I´ve encounted. It makes Firefox look like it takes up too much space, it´s lightning fast both at loading and general working and has a very complete download manager. I´d recomend it to anyone who uses firefox for the fact it´s saves space or for tabbed brousing.

From what I seen it seems to render pages the same. It says it complies with the web standards so it should act the same.... One thing I´vew noticed it the cursor jumps to the begining of (quote) or (code) after adding them.

Don't you have to pay for Opera? Otherwise you get horrible banner ads built into it

actually, you're wrong. IE doesnt follow the standards, so Firefox displays them as they are suposed to be and IE displays in their own little gay standard

blech, I'm editing this post in opera, I don't like opera Gross.

I'll give you some toast

Opera rocks anyways - it can save tab sessions, and the pause/resume/restart downloads -actually- works... Firefox's "download manager" (if it can even be called that) is SLOW (stupid fading) and the pause/resume fails 80% of the times...

The pause/resume features are dependant on the servers the file is downloaded from IIRC.

I thought that but it must be something else as Opera handles it much better. For example, with Firefox downloading the videos from yahoogames was very hit and miss. I´d download something and find out that it finshes before it´s completely downloaded or just sits there doing nothing. Even when I pause and resume it nothing happens. With Opera these downloads work fine and you can carry on the download even after closing Opera (At least with v7 you could. I haven´t tried v8 with that yet)

You export them in firefox as html and import them in Opera as html.

I don´t know. Opera uses less screen space so I might keep it anyway. History isn´t very good though.

in opera,

you can press rmb and move up then down with your mouse, fast.
this will open a new tab and open the same page in that tab

you can also move left right fast while holdin rmb down.
it will close the tab

awesome effect, but dangerous.
