Because I know SO many of you read the Wigan Evening News (it's a newspaper, in Wigan, published in the evening) I'll upload this here.

Blame Lee for the god-awful scan quality (and the less said about the haircut the better)

Cheers,

Rich

Lee looks as though he's on a fishing trip or something - there' a bloomin' tent in the background, and he's sitting on one of those portable chairs

Shame about the scan quality What does lee do? Kick it while its scanning or something?

"I hate my photo in this newspaper. I'll kick the scanner so the quality comes out crap. Muwhahahaha! "

Wait, which headline is about Lee and FPSC? "GAME BOY SET TO MAKE YOU A STAR"? or "Couple face crown court for theft charges"?

Excelent, it makes a change from the usual adverts and unemployment stories that make up local newspapers.

Is it possible for a better image, that makes it possible to read?

Like soccer strips, computer games are a constant drain on parents' pockets because there is always a new one coming out.
But now a technological revolution by a Wigan man is giving parents an exciting - and much cheaper - DIY option.
Rather than constantly paying out for the latest games, you can now let your kids make their own - then mums and dads will have enough left over for a Warriors or Latics strip as well!
Thousands of computer fans dream of making and selling their own games, but they lack the know-how to actually carry it off.
Now they can turn those dreams into reality, all thanks to The Game Creators, a small team headed by programmer Lee Bamber, who works from home in Lower (?).
The team has developed a new games creation package called FPS Creator that needs no programming knowledge and works on the family PC. It gives you the added fun of making anyone, such as family members and friends, into the characters in your game, and if your creation is good enough, you have free licence to profit from selling it.
"

Lower Ince I think Ben.

If you're wondering, the Warrior are Wigan Warriors, rugby team I think, and the Lactics are Wigan Athletic, a football team.

Mom will be thrilled when she finds out I can gun her down in my own home-made videogame!

Thanks TGC!

What will the video game violence campaigning Americans think of that?

WHAT is Lee sitting in/on?

Anyway, I persist of my view that its only a matter of time before Microsoft discovers the existence of TGC and DarkBasic Pro, and offers US$$$$$$$$m to snap both up. DBPro is exactly the sort of product Microsoft would love to push if only they knew it existed. Its a logical development of the DirectX API.

Assuming Lee was prepared to sell, he and his time would become financially independent. And well deserved I say too - I'm a big supporter of entrepreneurs.

THAT is not the question, Phil. No, sir! The real question is: WHY is there a pretty pink flower in his ear?

THAT, my furby friend, is the question.

I think.

They think? Surely to think requires a brain. They haven't got a collective block of grey matter between them.

Quote: "Lower Ince I think Ben."

Lower Ince is where Lee lives, tis a wee part of Wigan. It's also on the TGC Company Details page, which is where you may have seen it before.

Two things with that sentence:
1. The article is crap linguistically because Wiganers can't write (corollary: Lee types for a living)
2. I wouldn't say that being featured in the Wigan Evening News is "being noticed". They're more excited that someone's actually paying council tax and what you'd term "economically active".

Quote: "the Lactics are Wigan Athletic, a football team."

And I hasten to add, 2nd in the premiership table last time I looked.

Joking aside, If RickV hasn't already done so, a press release to the BBC news technology site wouldn't hurt. I bet they'd pick it up.

Congratulations TGC - the dizzying heights of fame, eh?

@adr: Is negativity part of your CV? (but I must admit, a press release would be a good idea)

So you think you're tough? - Zombie Hunter DBPro Beta 1 - December 2005 - Not so tough anymore, huh?

After re-reading my last sentence it could sound negative. I was trying to have a stab at Wigan (being a Wiganer myself) but unfortunately, it may have marred my genuine congratulations·

To summarise:
Wigan bad
TGC good

when scanning newspaper use the descreen filter lee, btw congratulations mate, news in your home town rag is a bloody ripper.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 
