Quote: "Most people only "discover" this when they read about it on a game website (most likely what you did)."

actually, my friends found that the day after it came out

Quote: "It's not a major bug unless you can reproduce them."

we can reproduce most of them, the one going under the level, my friend showed me the day after he found it, and also showed many other people.
Someone else showed me how to fly by targeting on the rocket with the sword, and yes, he found that one online. but still... there are a lot of bugs.

Quote: "Or when they obsess over a game, get accused of playing it by their friends, then because they are in an insecure social class find a wierd bug to show their friends they were just trying to find a bug in the game to criticize it.
"

or when people are really really really excited for a game to come out and play it a lot and start to find bugs because it's the only thing entertaining them.

and for the record.
Halo was a REALLY good game, I like Halo, I hate Halo 2 on the other hand.

I'll give you some toast

Over here, Halo and XBox in general have pretty much been overshadowed by everything else. I mean, people even dropped Counter Strike in favor of DoTA...

Halo is great because when it was released the graphics kicked ass - even compared to PC games at the time, let's be realistic.

Halo is great because it was co-op, and co-op FPS games don't get much better than Halo - I mean before halo there was nothing, now we have lots of co-op FPS games, lots of multiplayer vehicles, and much more developed co-op storylines - actually getting the full game in co-op is kinda unique.

Halo is quality - there's a lot of work went into halo, the graphics are great - if you disagree then seriously you need to spend less time with your PC, it's getting creepy. Halo has great particle effects, and it all runs smoothly. Halo drags you in, once you start playing a co-op game you won't want to stop till you find out what happens, alright a lot of it is repeated, but in the same breath Halo is freakin huge anyway, we all complain of games being too easy or too short or both - I'd rather battle through the same well designed scenery 3 times than finish a game in a weekend anyday.

But it wasnt the same well designed scenary :/ it was the same boring scenary :/ I'm mainly basing this on the trip to that.. flying computer thing, when you are fighting the flood all the way there and then fighting the flood all the way back again. The rooms wernt all that interesting or colourful and they were just repeated forever and ever.. seemed like an eternity. You would really have to be stubborn not to get bored there.

Most of the games ARE too easy and too short, thats a sad fact. However the answer is not repitition.

I'm making a game at the moment, most of us are here and thats why we're on the boards. If i make 15 levels to my game and then decide damn this is too short.. the answer to that is to make MORE levels. Not to copy paste my 15 levels and rotate them all by 90degrees >.>;

Halo generally wasnt that bad, and it had some really fun bits. But the rest just let it down - it floated to greatest on the wave of its initial wow factor - decent fps on a console, tons of people dont have game ready pc's so this was a FIRST for them. And by golly they were going to like it because not liking it would be hating the only thing they had.

Summed up halo WAS good. It's pushing it far to far to claim its the best thing ever and I would even think twice before saying it was "great".

Repetition is our friend, it's what'll keep companies like Bungie and Rockstar afloat.

Everyone has to re-use media, the sheer workload in generating media in the first place is huge, at least if they can recycle they can get onto another level theme or whatever. Really EA is gonna end up being the only videogame producer if we don't cut out this snobbery. EA can aford to pay hundreds of artists to make media for their games, smaller companies have to improvise and recycle.

I'm not saying that I loved the repitition in Halo, but it was necessary. Put this way, Halo2 was much less repetitive - but Halo1 felt so much bigger and better to me, because you have the long levels. I enjoyed the flood level, it's confusing as hell, but it felt like it belonged. Halo needed the sheer size aspect, it would'nt have been as good without it, it would have been more like Halo2. I agree that the scenery was kinda bland, but considering that if you needed 3 bridges, and they had to be the same spec - they'd look the same regardless of how many artists you had - they should have added more random bits and pieces to break the monotony.

I didn't find Halo that repetitive. In Halo 2 each scenario was different than the last. You're indoors for a while, then you come to the outside where it's snowing and the scenery is just... breathtakingly beautiful. Then after you blow away the baddies and make your way indoors, it's all industrial and metallic. Then you'll go to the forest with waterfalls. Then you go to the ancient ruins. Then you go to the alien ship. What's repetitive about that?

Jimmy has quite a good point about that, they do indeed...

I myself am probably getting one for christmas, not to do that though, no sir-e! NOT by a long shot, I'm quite looking forward to the games 'Huxley' and 'Gears of War' for the Xbox 360, they look awesome! I'm getting them along with the Xbox 360 if I get it for christmas , Along with other interesting games to come!

Omg, Halo 2 has alotta glitches and there not accidents! Super jumping: To complicated to be an accident. And getting under a level? Thats not a bug either. Theres spots on multi-player that you have to get in the exact spot or your dead. And getting outside levels isn't a bug. Theres secrets every-where, like this scarab gun its sooooo high above the level and way out bounds. So don't begin to say those are bugs.

Don't tell me what to do. Thats My job.

they are bugs, I think you've put yourself into loving this game so much, you're in denial, don't worry when you love something that much it tends to happen, 3DSMax fans boys will bite your head off if you say anything negative about it.

The scarab gun was actually not a bug. It was a gun put into the game by the developers that can be very difficult to get to.

Anyway, the things that let you go outside of the level are deffinetly bugs. No one wants you to leave the level. It defeats the purpose of the game. And guess what, Bungie patched up a lot of bugs a little before summer because they got around to fixing them. Rocket fly anyone? I think not.

HEHE, I loved sword canceling to get really high(requires a friend), and then while we were up on an impossible ledge, we'd snipe people like nothin else.

If you stand not beside me, then I assume you to be my enemy.
