Since the other topic has turned to Halo discussion, I'm starting a new one.
I popped down to the local wal-mart after reading that there was an XBox 360 down there. Sure enough, there it was, in all it's glory. There was no one there because all the teens are at school right now, so I played for a good 20 minutes. I played three demos there:
Call of Duty 2. This game looks great so far, the controls are very intuitive, much like your basic shooter controls. Now that there are the two shoulder buttons(replacing the black and white) they've used those to throw smoke grenade(left button) and frag grenades(right button) and I have to say, I love this control layout.
Peter Jacksons King Kong. This game was a little confusing at first. But damn, those graphics looked SWEET. The wet grass and rock glistened. The lightning lit up the whole scene. It took me a while to get out of the first area, but after that it was sweet. The models of the humans in the game were amazing, the best I've ever seen, and the fact there was no GUI really appealed to me. You could tell you were hurt by the screen turning red, the sound became distorted, it was great. King Kong himself looks awesome, and he has some really fun moves you can pull(I pinned down this T-Rex and slammed his head into the ground over and over again, it was sweet
)
Kameo. This is the game I was really looking forward to playing. And wow, it's fun. The controls are very easy to use, the graphics look SWEET, and I can tell this will be one of my favorites. I didn't get the chance to play this much though, as I ran out of time because I have to get to work soon. Maybe I'll go back tonight and try it out again
The controller is much better than the XBox controllers we have now, it's so comfortable!!! The extra two shoulder buttons are going to be great, and the start and back button in the middle(while taking a litle bit to get used to) seems to be a nice change. The XBox 360 itself was small, much much smaller than the brick we have now, and it looked pretty styling. Overall, I'm way too excited to pick this up Midnight November 22nd. I have to say, from what I've seen, it IS all it's cracked up to be
