Since the other topic has turned to Halo discussion, I'm starting a new one.

I popped down to the local wal-mart after reading that there was an XBox 360 down there. Sure enough, there it was, in all it's glory. There was no one there because all the teens are at school right now, so I played for a good 20 minutes. I played three demos there:

Call of Duty 2. This game looks great so far, the controls are very intuitive, much like your basic shooter controls. Now that there are the two shoulder buttons(replacing the black and white) they've used those to throw smoke grenade(left button) and frag grenades(right button) and I have to say, I love this control layout.

Peter Jacksons King Kong. This game was a little confusing at first. But damn, those graphics looked SWEET. The wet grass and rock glistened. The lightning lit up the whole scene. It took me a while to get out of the first area, but after that it was sweet. The models of the humans in the game were amazing, the best I've ever seen, and the fact there was no GUI really appealed to me. You could tell you were hurt by the screen turning red, the sound became distorted, it was great. King Kong himself looks awesome, and he has some really fun moves you can pull(I pinned down this T-Rex and slammed his head into the ground over and over again, it was sweet )

Kameo. This is the game I was really looking forward to playing. And wow, it's fun. The controls are very easy to use, the graphics look SWEET, and I can tell this will be one of my favorites. I didn't get the chance to play this much though, as I ran out of time because I have to get to work soon. Maybe I'll go back tonight and try it out again

The controller is much better than the XBox controllers we have now, it's so comfortable!!! The extra two shoulder buttons are going to be great, and the start and back button in the middle(while taking a litle bit to get used to) seems to be a nice change. The XBox 360 itself was small, much much smaller than the brick we have now, and it looked pretty styling. Overall, I'm way too excited to pick this up Midnight November 22nd. I have to say, from what I've seen, it IS all it's cracked up to be

I personally prefer a mouse and keyboard. They basically can make any game easily playable, if you know what keys to use.

Not being one who is blown away by great graphics, there's no way I'm paying the high price of the 360. It seams to be as great as the publishers say, but then again so do the other next gens.

Original giant-handed Xcrate controller rocks my socks.

Are the 360 controllers a little larger, or at least less scrunched than the Controller S?

My sweeping brush, the same as my toothbrush, just harder to use on wisdom teeth.

So what's the killer launch app for 360? - now that the unmentionable is out of the question, I'm guessing there's something planned.

I hear they're releasing two X-Box 360's(anyone who reads OPM should have noticed this in an article relating to the upcoming PS3). One will be a full package, with everything with it, and another will be a toned down version, less expensive, but also missing certain components that, of course, will be required for play at some point in the time that you own it. Faintly reminds me of my '64 and the stupid expansion pack that I never got.(I never got to play Donkey Kong '64, Zelda Majoras Mask, or the full version of Perfect Dark

If you stand not beside me, then I assume you to be my enemy.

Surely that would be Perfect Dark 0? The sequel to the unoficial sequel to Goldeneye.
Should be vastly superior to that Halo thing....

Dead or Alive. There's nothing else worth playing on consoles.

Welcome to six months ago

The killer app will most likely not be an app at all, but the amount of apps on launch. It will most likely set a record, as there's apparently 10-15 game titles that will be available upon the launch date.

Comfortable controllers may be one thing, but it won't stand up against the magic wand of a Revolution controller.

Simple... yet fun!

Yeah; I mean I don't love the new Nintendo console, but the Xbox... I don't know It just feels very 'forced'. I mean, some of the games are cool, but the console itself seems very..... odd

it's kinda like not having enough ram for you game right?
if a game requires 1gig of ram and you only have 128, how well do you think it's going to run?

and I disagree, with what you said altogether, the toned down Xbox will just be missing a large hard drive and stuff like that, it'll be more like your computer with a barely big enough hard drive for your OS and you just use Flash drives for all your apps

I think it would be cool if they let you store your CDs on the device itself.
and then like, every week or so have you pop the disk in for verification...

BUT, our world is crummy and that would cause a lot of piracy

Potentially an interesting programme on UK TV tonight (Friday) at 7pm on BBC2 about the Xbox 360 with exclusive access to Microsoft by the Money Programme.

This just in - Microsoft is deliberately slowing down production of the consoles, to create a false sense of urgency and drive all the fanboys crazy with console envy for the Holidays. This may backfire, as many little Johnny's and Janie's won't be able to frag away come Christmas morning.

that may backfire, I recall when Commodore where caught on the hop with unexpected A1200 demand prior to Christmas after their only serious advertising campaign and rushed units out to match demand, it made them VERY unpopular come Christmas, I recall the irate parents in the local stockists come the new year, they had returns stacked 12 high in the shop, all rushed out at the last moment with no proper quality control , units where catching fire, or just not working, hopefully MS are just holding back stocks rather than production.
