hi,ive been studying the ode in 5.9.

ive noticed in this sample code from the newsletter ,after i run the code,the objects move on the plain but the sphere doesnt roll.

this is physics right? so why doesnt the sphere roll??

a sphere can not roll unless you give it a force

I think they're giving you the option of rolling it since some people may not want the objects to roll, this way you can make sure it rolls in the right style/speed/direction you want it to.

You are right...it doesn't roll. I reported it in the beta 3 thread.
Someone somewhere (sorry I don't rememebr where) found that if you change the physics model (the way ODE calculates) it does roll. If I find the link I'll post it.
