Fireworks banned in the uk

Quote: "
Nuisance fireworks'

The accident has led to renewed calls for a tightening of fireworks' regulations.

But speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, John Woodhead, the chair of the British Fireworks Association, warned a ban would make matters worse.

"The nuisance fireworks - the air-bombs, the bangers, the mini-rockets and all these things that were causing the problems - those have gone now, unless you buy them illegally.

"Banning will certainly not help, it'll make it worse."

No, they're not banned - don't post a thread with a misleading title.

It doesn't say that fireworks are banned. It says Bangers etc... are banned, but they have been for more than 3 years now. That's probably what you read.

they are illegal in australia except for canberra and northern territory

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

Bangers are still easy to get here though, if you know somebody going on holiday to France around this time of year

Looks like there was an illegal gathering of around 3,000 people at our local park then. And the council were promoting it. And the police stood and watched, along with St. Johns and a local radio station.

What is this world coming to?

@Darkbasic MAD
If your location is 'England!' you must have noticed that they are far from banned.

Banned? welcome to Flordia, banned here, yet everyone still uses them. Funny thing is, the police officer that lives a block from me, has the best ones.

If you're so smart, why are you reading my post?

Must have been the return of the Blitz the other night then.....

Although seriously there seemed to be nowhere near the amount of fireworks overall compared to previous years.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Nothing's banned here. The other day we shot Fireworks at the passing Prime Minister's car.

Sweet! Would rather hit Chretien, though

Fireworks are banned in my city because the mayor was shot at by a bunch of hooligans last year. It's sure easy to sort out the ignorant politicians when they "impulse ban".

I also live in Florida, and although fireworks are supposed to be illegal, everybody has them and nobody ever gets into trouble unless they do something stupid like burn down a forest or blow up a house-cat.
