My freind has decided to go into gaming graphic design. He knows I'm a programmer so he asked what are some good programs he can begin practicing with that are in his price range. Do you guys know of any good modlers that range from 1-100$

Blazer - don't you use Milkshape? I got that impression from those shots in your email. But with that price range I guess Milkshape is teh way to go.

Yes, I use milkshape. But I was wondering if there was something better for him.

Yes, he is in highschool.

What dose that have to do with anything?

Graphic Design - does he mean 3d game models, 3d render models, 2d art, box art, user interface design (a newer discipline), or what?

Blender? - not exactly a pro tool.

This dude could easily get a student discount and get a decent package for his money. Where's Raven to tell us the student prices of 3DS Max - personally I'd suggest Rhino3D, as it's very tangible, like modelling in nurbs is something he should certainly be learning - plus nurbs are easy to learn. With the new trend of normal maps in games, high detail skills are vital.
