I've noticed all the links with .tk in them don't work when I click on them. It says they don't exist. Is there anyway around this?
Sorry if I don't reply for about 8 hours. I will have to go to be soon. Anyway, I live in the U.S. if that has anything to do with it.

check your browsers trusted sites.

"traceroute" a domain with tk and see where the intarweb blockage is at. if its inside your isp then you can ask them, otherwise contact near where its being stopped.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

I looked in the trusted and blocked sites in both Internet Explorer and Firefox, but there wasn't any thing that said anything about sites with .tk. I tried searching on google, but I couldn't find anything because I don't know much about that kind of stuff. So I have no clue how to traceroute sites...

like this:
tracert google.com

Thank you, TKF15H!

When I did tracert google.com, it printed a bunch of stuff, like
1 2mn 2ms 2ms 293.4895.929

and when I did thegameszone.tk, it printed
unable to resolve target system name www.thegameszone.com

Do you know what the problem is?

thats a DNS problem - are you using a router to share the internet? It might be that you have the incorrect DNS settings.

Basically - you're computer cant look up what the IP address for any .tk sites are... which is strange!!!

Probably an ISP issue - its not AOL is it?

I cant remember right now - but there is a command called nslookup which can help with these problems. Google the command, it will show you how to use it. You could temporarily tell you computer to use a different DNS... NTL (in the UK) use:
194.168.4.100
194.168.8.100

But they probably limit connection to those from NTL users only.

OK, never mind. I don't understand any of this internet stuff...

Your PC appears to be converting .tk domains to .com instantly. I don't think this is an ISP issue, it's before that. I'd say possibly spyware, or some such similar nastie.

Either that or some nanny firewall software being daft.

There are LOADS of forums and blogs about .tk domains not working with RoadRunner but there is an answer apparantly;

http://www.broadbandreports.com/faq/13079

Make sure and follow directions CAREFULLY. I will not be responsible for you messing up your connection.

I'm having the same trouble on my home computer. I imagine there could be spyware as the Norton is no where near current...and I don't use road runner...never even heard of it in fact..

Quote: "Q: I can't view .tk sites via RR. What do I do? (#13079)

A: This is due to a well known issue with the Road Runner DNS servers.

The resolution is to add a DNS server that will resolve the .tk domain infrastructure properly.

Please follow these steps if you are having this issue:

1) Record your current DNS servers.

1.a) If you are running Windows NT/2000/XP, open a command prompt and run ipconfig /all and write down your DNS servers.

1.b) If you are running a Linux / Unix variant, open a command prompt/terminal and type cat /etc/resolv.conf - write down the IP addresses returned.

1.c) If you running a Mac OSX variant: INFO NEEDED

2) Change your DNS servers.

2.a) If you're running Windows 2000/XP, go into the control panel and bring up the properties of your local area connection. Add one of your main DNS server IP addresses from step one as the "Preferred DNS Server", then use the IP address '4.2.2.1' as the "Alternate DNS Server".

2.b) If you are running a Linux / Unix variant, type echo "nameserver 4.2.2.1 >> /etc/resolv.conf"

2.c) If you are running a Mac OSX variant: INFO NEEDED

You should now be able to resolve .tk domains.

"

I could do the first step, find your DNS server, but I couldn't find the properties to change the DNS server. I use Windows ME, and it doesn't support it with the directions on how to change it. I looked around on the forum and found alot of topics about this, but none that I could find use ME, so I couldn't find where to change the DNS server. Thanks though
