Let's look at the features that have been requested both recently, and historically. Some have been implemented already, some were immediately shouted down, and some are still in discussion.

Star Rating for experienced members
Admins who are like Rich's minions
Elected Members who are like sub-admins
PM
Animated/audible smilies

Do you know what that almost sounds like? an MMOPRG! Seriously, look at all of those features and they all make up part of some kinda crappy online fantasy game. "Experienced members" are people who spend too much time on the game and so are elevated in rank. The "Honoured Members" is simply another way for people to feel good about themselves... Admins have some magical powers and they do Rich's bidding in his land. PMing = "Hi!! A/S/L?" and the animated/audible smilies are just another interactivity ploy.

The way I see it, all the people who bought DBP with the goal of making "Final Warcraft Empires Online VII" are finding that it isn't quite drag and drop. Therefore, why not get Rich to do it!

Let's make sure the "forums.thegamecreators.com" doesn't become "mmorpg.thegamecreators.com"... Start the revolution!

I've always wanted to be a minion - I've been a henchman for so long that I feel I should spend some experience points on becoming a minion.

Thing is Adr, your probably onto something, a MMORPG with a built in forum would be the 'very berries'.

No! You're not supposed to be enthused by it! You're meant to do pee-pees on the idea.

That said, tight integration of a forum into an MMORPG would be quite cool. The "metaphor" could just be going down to the town hall or some other kind of central building in your world. Better yet, your avatar could consult those "for sale" type notice boards in ADSA.

"For Sale: Uber l33t magic spell. 1 careful lady pwner. 3,000,000 credits ONO"

I was thinking he had made some kind of sinister graphic design for the forum before I clicked. Disappointment comes to me so easily...

…but then wouldn’t that be “j’aime moi” ? I did get the “ma” connection, but that’s “mine.” Unless I'm just being stupid :p

No, in that kind of a sentence the personal pronoun is used before the verb.

Ahhh right, now it makes sense! Just took a bit of confusion, some sugar, a spot of caffine, and a consultation with a french-speaking-cat to clear it up.

actually if you made the forums into a mmorpg we could kill annoying noobs and they would be banned for the day , but other than that those are stupid ideas apart from the pm bit i can see why that would be usefull 1% of the time for all the others just use e-mail/msn.
