On TDK's website, it says on the Matedit section of his page that he has been working on Matedit pro, but stopped after DBPro was released, but it was confusing if he was going to finish it or not...
And why would Matedit not be needed with DBpro? Does it have a built in editor or something?

No, DBP just has other ways to create landscapes and therefore most users don't use plain matrices any more.
