On Friday I put an LCD monitor in the side of my case. It was a pain in the butt and I have to put it on phone books to raise it to a less neck-breaking height, but it is cool.

And here it is:

It is large.

Looks cool, but as you said, it's quite low. Was there no way of gluing it a bit higher? It'll look a bit funny if you have to put it on a pile of phone books.

You could mount the screen on telescoping sliding rails, so you could retract it into that position for transporting, and then slide it up to height when you use it. Allowing it to pivot along the x axis once extended would also be nice.

My friend took it.

It is in the case. The backlight is spaced an inch off the back of the LCD itself, so we had to bring it out of the case about half an inch.

And it's so low because we had to cut out the CDROM drive bay to make it fit, but leave the top of it for my DVD drive. If we really wanted to, we could use SirFire's idea, because it isn't glued, but we have other plans for this thing that'll raise it plenty and allow for pitching the monitor.

I drilled the tower for the monitor.

The monitor is in fact in a big hole. The front of the monitor is just on the outside.

That's totally weird. How about having it so that it kind of opens out and folds into the position that you have it like there.

So it goes from

to

he's done a lot of rework other than the hole for the monitor
like this:

suitcases are big bags you use when u travel places, a breif case is the size of a breif*, if i had a laptop the size of a suit case (which i do, it's a pentium 1 for cryin out loud!) then i don't know how many of my hats I will eat.

*breif being the name for a document, in most cases the size of an a4 sheet of paper.
