In this program, http://developer.thegamecreators.com/?m=codebase_view_code&i=1fa9d4d2c41fa93056ef3673c468cd77
You have to enter an IP. I have a friend on a different computer, with a different IP how do we get connected?

Like most online games you have to connect to the host computer. If your friend wants to be the host you put in his ip address... if you want to host it he puts in yours.

Indeed, you enter each other's IPs.

http://www.WhatIsMyIP.com/ or a Start > Run > cmd /k ipconfig will tell you what yours is...

(So you tell each other your IPs)

tell the program to use IP 255.255.255.255

basically means "any" - but that will also list every other net game for every application created by Dark basic... remember your net game name (specified on create net game command) so you can identify which session is yours / your friend's...

if you just want it to show yours, then build a filter to only show sessions with a preset name, or find each others IPs and hope they're not dynamic then enter those instead of 255.255.255.255

...maybe one day I'll finish a project

Depends.. If your friend is in the same network you have to enter his local ip adress. If he is somewhere else, for example his home you have to enter his external ip he can find his ip using, as blanky said: http://www.whatismyip.com

Be also sure that his firewall is switched off, or if he is behind a router that he forwards the directplay ports to his computer

goto start then run then type "cmd"
now your in command prompt
type "netstat -r" this gives you a list of every active ip address and if you use it with "ipconfig" you can see if each others computers are even connected to each other. if you see the other computers ip address you can connect in lan or ipx games

They're only zombies when jesus come (play madness interactive and you will also see why)
