I just got DBSDK, and I have been fooling around with it. Well, I was on the xbox website today and downloaded the development documentation for programmers. I looked it over and most of what DBSDK is made off of is extremely compatible with XBox360 without the development kit. I was thinking of picking up a box, but I may wait because of the bugs. What do you think: Can DBSDK be able to transfer over to XBox360 with ease?

Hey, I am a total noob to DBP, so if you would be kind enough to just help me along. I'm good with FPSC though, just learning DBP now.

But it's not an x86 processor--- what makes this so hard to grasp? DarkSDK will NOT compile 360 code. You need to have the XenonSDK, which unless you're a licensed MS developer, you don't have.

Bah, GCC will probably be outputting code for it soon.

Then all you will have to do is get it to run the code. If they learnt anything from the xbox that isn't going to be easy.

Actually, in theory you only have to change around Dark Game SDK so you make it able to support things with the XBox 360 that DBSDK does not have or is not compatible with and maybe change around the SDK. That is all. Also, if the SDK is only compatible with the x86 chipset, how does it work with AMD processors and Microsoft computers that are made for servers? It is not the 80's anymore people.

Err... AMD processors *do* use the x86 instruction set.

*only*!? There's no way to do it... period. Especially not until they get mod chips out and open source libraries written for it. They have open source libraries for the original Xbox but they're nowhere near as powerful as having the real XDK libraries.

Nothing will be able to run on the XBOX 360 unless it is digitally signed by the Microsoft Corporation. Even games that are released by third party companies need to get their software signed to even allow them to run on any XBOX 360.

No, they wouldn't!

Why? Because DarkSDK is a set of libraries compiled for the x86 platform.

Xbox 360 uses the Cell architechture.

It would require TGC to recompile the SDK, change all memory handling code, do something about multiple thread support and I'm still not sure that the new Xbox supports dynamic link library support.

The old one didn't.
