hey guys, some of you may have seen the models i ripped from my FFX game, but this is new! I converted Tidus, the main character in FFX to an editable format, then smacked him thru milkshape and character fx real fast and put him in dark basic pro! The quality is horrible due to lack of caring if the nimation looked good. Also i put him in the binary moon tutorial that was half complete so theres no collision on the vid. Heres a screeny, the vid is downloadable below, its like 4 megs i think.

dude, you've got to convert as many models as you can and put them upto post, it would be good to have RPG models to test mine and Setts RPG engine in development

Benjamin i dont know...but if its not, and i get canned... you can have my laptop...

Sepp i think the illegal thing would be to distribute them . What im doing is legal because #1 THEY provided me the game disc which i PAYED for. I just happened to get the material off the disc because it wasnt protected enough. Simple as that. If i was selling the models that would be illegal.

i dunno , in new york, if someone secures theyre front door with a paper clip and you remove it you are breaking and entering (felony) especially at night (super felony) while people are in the residental structure (Super duper felony)

I need someone intelligent to talk to me about my problems too...

but they are not giving you the contents of their house... you catch my drift? i payed for legally the contents of the disc, its up to me whether i play them on my ps2 or disasemble them.

for a large title like that,media is restricted to the use of the game in question and 99.9999999% illegal to disect and distribute any media from the program in question.

you can however use them in your game, but snapshots and playable demos being shared across the internet would also break the rules of the media being used.

its best to just make your own, c&d emails are common for young developers stealing media and trying to fob it off as their own game.

there was a sonic the hedgehog remake many years back here in DBC and the developer got an email from you know who to stop all work.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

But whats the problem of doing it secret squirrel styley then just leaking it onto the net? Don't, whatever you do, put your real name on it, but what they gonna do once it's all over Trackers, Kazzaa etc? Even if they stop it, you have no real issues. And if they track it back to you (can't see it myself) then pretend you got it from somewhere else. You aren't making money from it, and no-one knows it's "you".

People take this stuff too seriously. No one is going to care if you use a few animations for personal testing purposes.

Just don't go parading it on the forums.
