dear fellow forumers,

May I offer my sincerest appologies to any forum members I have offended by posting remarks about being, 'n00bs' or 'spamming' or anything else for that matter. It seems I have been venting my frustrations on some members of this fine forum for trivial things, for this i am deeply sorry.

From now on I will only post constructive comments in threads no matter how insane they may be. I think I might be seen as a bit of an ogre by some of the newer members, and mabey even put some of them off posting requests for help by my silly actions. I would urge any member who has been put off by any comments I have made in threads to post their idea, question or whatever, as I will not tear into you just because you are a newbie.

We are all in this together, and we all started with no knowledge and no clue at one point or another. Were all at different stages of development as programmers and artists. The older coders and the more advanced younger coders and artists should really do all they can to encourage newcomers. Our fine community is built on learning programming and games development. It's time we put all this n00b stuff behind us and got down to the real business of making great software and content.

Once again, my appologies for any offence I have caused.

Grant.

good work mate.
a pile of mistakes, leads to success.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

I didn't notice you flaming people, and have always found you to be rather helpful, with your gargantuan collection of media for people to use, and the additional slices of code. But then, my memory does suck.

A lot of people on these forums flame the unknowing newcomers, and I personally hate them all to the deepest depths of my recycling bin. Well done for noticing that people who show this kind of behaviour are a literal waste of space.

Yay Grant!

I was considering posting a similar thread about the current "state of affairs". Like you, I've been getting very frustrated at the rubbish that's getting posted by a minority. The result is that most newcomers and less experienced members get caught in the crossfire.

Personally, I don't think you need to apologise. Most of us know that you have been "out of character" in a couple of your posts, driven to distraction by some of the posts of late. The problem is that it used to be confined to the way-off-topic threads, ut now they've been banned it's harder to spot and avoid them.

Maybe we should all make an effort to remove the rubbish ourselves. It's already been said by a few people -
if rubbish gets posted, don't reply! Let it sink!

Let's hope things get back to normal soon!

The couple of times gc did go off his rocker (i.e. "how to tell of your games ready for a showcase thread") I thought it was perfectly justifided. Nontheless, it is indeed a noble gesture to formaly apologize in this thread, and I admire you only the greater for it. [/shakespear]
