Ok Im in the market for a new computer again..Yes gasp a new computer must be sacrialage that I havent kept up with the times.. And I realize that nearly every NVIDIDA geforece 7800GT has this nifty thing which I have no idea about called VIVO now could someone tell me What in blazes is this elusive program and where I can buy a decently priced Dual core because I want to be able to Program and Run games while still Running an Antivirus program...Im thinking of using the Windows home button again. Anyway Any suggestions, hints or reasons as to WTF vivo is please tell me. BTW im not a complete n00b when it comes to computers and Im building My own so don't send me to a sight that will only sell me pre built computers because that takes the fun out of it.

http://newegg.com/ is where i get everything... they ship REALLY fast (if you're in the States, don't know about Europe or Australia) for hardly anything usually

get a mobo/vid card that supports SLI, you might not want to buy two 7800's right now, but it's good to plan ahead

Yah Im getting one right now but I really want to know what this VIVO is. Also I want to have your guys opinion (or girls) on what type of a dual processor MOBO that is ASUS AMD supported. I really want to go dualies with the athlon chipset but not sure which 64+bit processors to go with and all that stuff.
And newegg doesnt ship to canada last I checked..At least I dont think. I personally use www.atic.ca and i really just wnat suggestions for the best computer lowest price range here. Im a bargain buyer don;t like spending too too much because I know itll be outdated in like a week anyways so whats the point.
Mebbe i should wait for DX10 to come out before buying..

vivo = video in video out - there is a connector on the card where you plug in a supplied cable that has various leads coming out of it - so you can capture video from a tv, video, video camera, etc. You can also output video to a video or even the tv.

PS Have you never heard of Google? Just type 'nvidia vivo' and you get shedloads of webpages about it.

I would really like the new 7800 GTX 512MB version but paying around £500 just for a graphics card would be mad.

Just dug out the receipt for my Geforce 4 Ti4600 (128MB) that I purchased in April 2002 - cost me a mind boggling £339

It's still good for most games though.

I think for your average compo user the dual core AMD chips cost a hell of a lot more for little gain. I think you really need to be running a 'proper' multi-tasking OS to get the most out of them. All I know is my AMD4000+ is not dual core, but it's faster than a nun zipping up her chastity belt.

Or you can save a bunch of money by buying a good, cheap AMD Sempron 3100+, sticking a huge 120mm Zalman fan on it, and overclocking the hell out of it (shoot 2.5-2.7 ghz)

The 7800 is uber expensive atm, I have the pci-e 6800 256 ultra and all I can say is its a dream! runs any games with settings all full and basically laughs at them. You could prolly pick a 6800 up for 300$ or thereabouts, not sure.

My base system specs:
Asus P5GD2-Deluxe Mobo
Intel P4 3.2 Ghz CPU
Nvidia 6800 PCI-Express(16x) Ultra 256 DDR (sli ready)
1 Gig DDR 533 RAM

Well if overclocking isn't your style, lets hope $$$ spending is (overclocked Semprons reach speeds near Athlon FX-55), and it's not risk at all, if you go to your bios, there's thing this (soz idk what it's called exactly but it's prolly different on different bioses, but it monitors the cpu temp., and as soon as it hits the mark that you set for it, the pc automatically shuts down), and you could look up appropriate temps. for your particular cpu to see if you're in the righ limits, and you're good to go. It's still your choice, I'm just pointing out the thruth about overclocking...overclocking is safe if you don't go crazy...thats all I have to say.
