I officially despise Christmas "cheer" and everything about it before December 1. It annoys me to no end that people start celebrating Christmas the day after Halloween. About a week ago I saw a dude wearing a Santa hat in Wal-Mart--- I had a sudden urge to pull it off his head :-P

We buy a tree about 2 weeks before, don't normally bother getting it inside and decorating it until a few days before, not because we're traditional but because we aren't very organised.

And then we dont take the tree down until the end of January time.

Jeku: It is commonly done after Thanksgiving around here because it's after the last holiday before it gets EXTREMLY cold around these parts.

I guess you guys in the south are lucky. Our Thanksgiving was before Halloween, so Halloween is the last "holiday" before Christmas. Therefore Wal-Mart, The Bay, Superstore, the malls, etc. put up their Christmas decorations directly after Halloween. It's madness I tells ya!

But joel, we're in utah... we're different from everyone else. My neighbor has had his christmas lights up since early october. And the guy right down the street has em all year round.

I remember when stores just COULDN'T WAIT for christmas to come around, so they tried to get us all on board their "Christmas in July" campaign. What a flop that was.

Personally I hate erecting my tree, my whole family always wants to join in, and all the balls fall around the place.

heh, yeah

I can honestly understand putting them up in october, just because of the weather, but turning them on? or having them on all year round? that's just lame

I love utah...

no, really, I do...

Where I live the stores do them all one after the other... so the best way to have holiday cheer is by saying:

Happy Hallothankmas!!

We don't have thanksgiving or halloween so any stores that do put up decorations (very few around here) have only just done it in the past couple of days.

Saw the guy that made that light show on the news this morning, apparently he's been asked not to run the lights again this christmas because of the trafiic jams being caused by people parking to see the show!
