Okay, I need help, I am trying to make a maze out of lines, this is my first try at something like this so I need some help. This is all Ive got so far...

DO
LINE 629,70,10,70
LINE 629,400,10,400
LINE 10,70,10,400
LINE 629,70,629,400
LOOP

How do I make it so that a sprite can move around in between the lines and collide into them? Please keep it simple for me. Thanks.
(By the way im making it in DBPro.)

One wonders why you posted it in the DarkBASIC Classic forum.

Ignore him.

Every so often, he posts on the same subject but with a different title. If you help him he never comes back and comments on whether your advice helped or not.

I doubt if you would get any thanks if it did.

After posting a question, I doubt he ever returns to read the replies!

One of those posters you are wasting your breath on I'm afraid...

TDK who are you going on about, I am quite curiouse, if you are talking about me then I would just like to say that you have no right to post comments such as that. If I'm no good at programming then so be it, but that doesnt mean that I cant ask questions. To me you seem to be a rude and ignorant, and if you have nothing descent to say in reply to a question then I suggest that you go elsewhere and dont bother replying to my posts. Now I can see why youre no longer a mod on these forums! Im sorry but that is what I have to say, Im sick to death of ignorant people such as yourself! I am only 14 years old and I am only trying to learn a bit of Dark BASIC, the last thing I need is people like you replying with insultive comments!

TDK_Man is definately NOT rude or ignorant... he's possibly the nicest guy on the forums. It sounds like you've asked for things in the past, and when you got your answer, not even so much as a thank you in return. We don't know you've read the replies, IF you don't, there'd be no point replying at all. in which case I'd say the same thing...

Personally, If that was me I'd never help you again - especially since despite having a go in return, you confessed to not knowing who his comments were aimed at.

Read it properly! "if you are talking about me" is what I said!

Besides I do find it offensive when people are told to ignore me, I just found it insultive thats all, Im sorry if it seems like I have a very short temper, but thats life!

IF, to me implies only a possibility...

IF TDK wasn't referring to you, your reaction would be?

It's probably because of this thread:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=62272&b=10

It was posted by Tom Thelwall the day after he joined the forums... TDK was the first to mention the fact that many newbies like to form "companies" to make games. Tom of course got angry right away even though TDK was right.

It took me a while to find it... we really need a search options... like a way to find every single post that a person has made.

As anyone on here will already know, you will never see me flame or be nasty to anyone. Unlike you, I don't suffer from a short temper.

Occasionally though, something irks me enough to comment with the truth and if that bothers anyone then it's their problem not mine.

I also don't make comments like I did about something without being sure of what I am saying.

That's your opinion which you are entitled to.

I think that people who post questions on forums and never return to say "thanks for that - it worked great" or "thanks for the comments" are also rude and ignorant.

So what part of my post was I being either untruthful or rude and arrogant?

It's also annoying when TGC create a forum with boards for DB Pro and DB Classic and you post a question about DB Pro on the DB Classic board. When this is mentioned you ignore the post.

Surely this is rude and arrogant, yes?

I rest my case.

I never passed any comment on your programming abilities as to do so would not be polite. Neither did I say you couldn't ask questions.

I merely suggested that no-one should bother to waste their time replying because on past evidence you never seem to return to acknowledge the help you have been given.

Greed:

It depends on what you are writing the IDE in. It should be a feature of the control you are using. (Well it is in Delphi component I use anyway).

Maybe I might reply with an email.

OMG! I cant beleive it, Im so sorry that I have broken the rules! Well as far as I was concerned, there's nothing DBasic can do that DBPro cant, and surly just a simple question isnt going to hurt anyone, but telling people to ignore me is!

I think that's aimed only at people on the DB classic board - if you have DB pro, that's where you should be posting...
Don't be afraid of your posts being missed because there are like 20x more posts in that board - if anything there's more people to know what you're talking about and so less time waiting for a reply
