Dancing Monkeys

If you can make sense of the file they send out, you can use the Dancing Monkeys application. It works it out for you.

I'd been meaning to take a look into it (and a DB parser) myself. I have two dance mats, and the adaptor for plugging them into the PC. I recommend you look at Stepmania while you're at it

Good luck.

hmm interesting... i played FFR for the first time in a long time... finally got through that FFVII battle song! holy crap!! its like 6 minutes long... (screeny attached)

Being a DJ, i know how important BPM's are when it comes to mixing music and displaying any kind of images linked to the beats. What you should do is make a BPM function that you can use for every song's arrows, and it will calculate how fast/slow the arrows should go. BPM is beats per minute, there is probably some kind of software that can find it out for you.

dammit i was typing MBP... i mean BMP!!

I've looked into the Dancing Monkey's Project some more (the front end is very useful - yuck to command line parameters). It spews out very simple text files that you can easily parse in.

It also includes the offset time, and BPMS.

As I was hoping to do a rythem (sp!) game, I'll be trying to parse in some of that myself. Good luck again.

Ok... I have changed my game type a bit here... My friend has got me addicted to this game called "Guitar Hero"... soo my friend wanted me to recreate it and call it "Ghetto Hero" lol... dont ask I may change the name still... anyways the game works the same as DDR, except theres 5 colored buttons instead of 4 arrows as beats... I make an actual USB guitar controller for this project and things are lookin pretty good... if you want to see more of what the game will be like go and google "Guitar Hero" and watch the game videos and stuff... I may post screen shots in a few days...

Also open to any help so if your lookin for a dark basic classic project to do out there... this one should be inneresting...

Go ahead and email me if you would like to help...
