7th December Update: We've now heard from Ronnie! He is on the case and will be shipping us CDs with the software, licenses, etc soon. He promised to clear out his backlog of 400+ emails, so hopefully you won't have to wait for long if you bought directly from him.

...

At the time of writing (December 5th), The Game Creators Limited have not purchased any rights for the company Aliencodec. We are not currently responsible for their actions and the delivery of their products to customers who have purchased from them.

The Game Creators are in the process of purchasing the Aliencodec brand, web site and software - but this process has stalled due to a delay from Aliencodec.

If you have purchased a title from Aliencodec then we would advise the following:

Either:

1) Remain patient and hope that they check their order system and send you your order in the near future (we have NO access to their order system, or list of customers)

Or

2) Call / Email Paypal, or your credit card company, and ask them to charge back the money you spent. PayPal have a transaction dispute service which you can use. The Game Creators cannot fulfill your order or refund it. We have no more access to the Aliencodec sales system at this time than you do.

Please note: If and when The Game Creators purchase of Aliencodec completes, we do not expect and did not agree in the contract, to take on existing debts.

As a help to all customers of Aliencodec, The Game Creators will insist that Aliencodec fulfill all outstanding orders before we make the final purchase payment to Aliencodec.

We wished this had gone a lot smoother, but the delays are nothing to do with us, and we're waiting to hear from them just as much as everyone else.

Yes. If you don't know who they are, don't pollute this thread. It's here because the official Aliencodec forums are 'down' to new posts, and we're getting an increasing amount of support mail related to this, so in the rare event someone checks here first, they will know what is going on.

They wanted to give up the application side of life and concentrate on making games. They approached us with an offer, based on TM/PL sales we said yes, and that's about the sum of it really.

Yes we'd own their entire product line, BlitzGrass included. It would be up to us what we then do with it (continue selling it, make it open source, etc).

What was the idea of the Thanksgiving sale? Was that just to screw TGC over right before you guys took over? Sell off everything they could at extra low prices then jump ship? Take my $17.95 to Tijuana and party?

Will TGC be honoring that Thanksgiving sale? I'm one of the unlucky few stuck in the middle of this corporate takeover. The whole point of ordering software online is so that I can get it immediately. I'll just start growing my own trees and plants. I'm sure I'll see results faster.

Well, it sucks, but at least it's not the other way around. Or, some third party. Long live TGC!

I have no idea really (re: the sale), it was probably just a means to raise some quick cash to fund whatever they are now moving into.

We have no intentions of fulfilling outstanding orders because that was never part of the agreement. However it is a condition of our contract that the sale won't complete until THEY (AC) have sorted out all of their order backlog, and delivered the goods that people like yourself have paid for. So in the end, hopefully this will all come good.

Well, that's cool, but I predict failure (on their part). Payment has been cleared since the 11th of November and no word to my MANY e-mails. I doubt they have that many backlogged orders since I came along. Sad, sad, sad.

Is there a tentative timeline? Just something to give me an idea about what I should do (wait, or contest Paypal).

Thanks!

I would hold fire for a bit - we talked to Ronnie today and he's in the process of sorting things out and uploading all the software to us, so he's definitely around and dealing with things.

Yeah. I just ordered at a bad time I suppose. The first day of their Thanksgiving sale, actually. Jerks.

Whatever happened to the free version of treemagik? I tried to download it the other day and the link was broken.

it was supposed to be free once a month but that changed.
open source would be good.or dirt cheap as a complete grass/tree/plant package.

Hello!
Just wondering if someone already has got his outstanding order or his money back from Aliencodec?
Surely I'm not the only one who did not get anything for the money payed to Aliencodec / Ronnie Smith.

Greetings from Sweden,
