i know this sounds like a stupid question, and it probaly can, but on earth do yoy get on key to lead you somwere and a different key to lead you somewere else, or a type in one thing and somthing happens, cant just oress enter all day long and get through the game, just trying to make a text adventure game...

Yes it can. You can search the codebase for examples to get you started. If you have more questions post them in this thread and we'll all help you... most of us have made a few text adventure games. We all have different ways to do it too.

Try with "INPUT", "INKEY" and "KEYSTATE" commands.

Heres a little quick example (not sure if it works, didn't test it.) But it gives you the idea. I'm not sure if this is what your trying to ask, but hope it helps you.
