Hi all,

I had a break from DB whilst more models were completed for the new snow island, but now they're progressing well i can get back on it. A few things have changed since i left. DBPro 5.9 - does this work with nuclear glory ok, or the particles pack?

Also due to the break my thread has been locked, are mods able to unlock a thread?

Any good games released in DB since i been away?

Welcome back! Snow Island rocked, good to hear it's still a-goin'.

As for new games being released, there is the excellent Dumbo & Cool released by Drew Cameron a few days ago. But lastnight, he made a post saying that he was going to pursue the making of a film series. Strange that you should come back the day after he leaves!

Dumbo & Cool is great, cant believe Drews leaving though. Checking out the 5.9 it says I will need to download the new version of the particles pack, anyone got a link for it, one of the site doesnt seem to change the page.

Checked out the far cry video which looked great, anyone got any tutorials on how to do water like that in darkbasic, would be cool if snow island could have reflective and realistic water.

Heres a sneak peak render of the current concept. We could do with another talented modeler to work on the project if there is one out there to speed things up. None of these models in the screenshot are complete except the Lighthouse so don't get too picky when commenting on it.

i tried to unlock it but i think thats a "rich" power and hopefully he will see this post,
failure to that i wouldnt worry about creating a new post with improved shots etc..
just relink older urls 'n stuff to the new post, btw lookin good!

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

welcome back

As for the particles pack yes I had the same question, which no-one answered, but when I downloaded the 5.9 update it didn't muck it up, so the "old" version should work for you, it does for me

Cheers indi, lets hope Rich does see it then I wont have to start a new thread.

Kangaroo: there is a link on the 5.9 page but it doesnt seem to link to anywhere, but if it doesnt affect the particles pack like you say i might risk it, anyone else know anymore about this?

Cheers Hawkeye, hope everyone is impressed with whats to come,

The link on the page just links to an identical page - there is not particles pack update. Do what I did, make a copy of your whole dbpro directory just incase so you can copy it over if the 5.9 mucks it up. Then upgrade to 5.9 and test the particle/cloth stuff - thats what I did and it worked fine
