Anyway, I'm trying to find one that will connect to the internet using my wirless router...

Does anyone know where I can buy these from?

Many Thank!

Yes - I'm getting one too, from Dell (http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/axim_x51v?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs)

Its over-priced (but I'm worth it), but does come with a 2D/3D graphics processor, unlike most - so back to DirectX programming for me

Acer do some good ones too.

Was going to get a GPX2, but it seems very buggy-fied.

I buy mine from HP, but they are for business. I guess a lot of people on this forum use it for other stuff, but they are great for what I use them for.

I have an Ipaq4150. Bluetooth and Wifi. Bit older now, but still top stuff. You can buy them all over the place (even Dixons). Although search the web, there are loads of good deals. And buy that 3D pool game, is tops with a stylus.

Browsing the web using one is not the greatest, but couldn't get much cooler a year ago sending emails through hotmail in the bar of a Paris hotel. Most fun. Even though it was slightly less cool if you noticed that you could go to the other side of the hotel where the free computers (and free to access wireless router) could be used (was a very good hotel).

Cheers

You also have the option of buying a cheaper one - as long as it has an SD card slot as you can now get SD Wireless cards!

or a high end palm device, they have wireless, I use my Palm more than my pocket PC, it`s just easier to use and the apps don`t need 200mb of ram for every single little thing ,ok! so I exagerate, but pocket PC`s have bloated apps just like their bigger cousins, Palm apps are often just a few K, plus they take big SD cards, I have several movies on one, plus a MP3 collection, about 100 E-books and twenty or so games, I used to use it when I was working away on site, evenings in towns you don`t know are pretty boring when you can`t have a drink cos you will be up early and working at heights the following day, you have to take your own amusement (plus the PC only runs two hours on the battery).

Windows: 32 bit extension/graphical shell for a 16bit patch to an 8bit OS originally coded for a 4bit CPU, written by a 2bit company that can't stand 1bit of competition, now available in 64bits.

Its a real pain coding for Palm's though - you need either Codewarrior (a nasty piece of software) or GCC (getting and setting it up is nasty).

Eh? Think mine will take the biggest SD card you can throw at it. Currently have a 1gb on mine, and I don't believe they have gone above 2gb yet (flash can handle 4gb currently).

Also aren't Palm dying a death according to the press?

Cheers

I recently bought the HP iPaq rx1950. It is a gem SD MMC card expansion 300Mhz 32mb RAM 64 ROM (36Mb user available). It does'nt have bluetooth though only Wi-Fi.

But for $299 its a great buy!
Does anyone know of a programming tool for this?

@Nimajneb: Have you looked at Embedded Visual C++? It's in the MS site somewhere, compiles to native code and is free. Or you can go with Visual Studio if .Net is your thing. There are also compilers that run on the PPC itself, like PocketGCC and Pocket C#. It's a joy to program for these machines ^_^

If your PocketPC uses Mobile Windows 5.0 (like mine), you need to get Visual Studio 2005 (Standard upwards - the Express version isn't supported).

If it uses Mobile Windows 2003 or older, then the Embedded version will be fine.

The only problem I have found is that whilst my laptop and Pocket PC have Bluetooth, and both find each other, my laptop doesn't actually recognise the Pocket PC...

ROFL thats Microsoft compatability for you , their own OS won`t talk to...their own OS , never had a problem with the Palm , plus you can program in basic and C for it...basic can be programed right on the device..plus palms are cheaper atm.

That new Axim's looking good ^_^

I'm keeping my eyes on this one...

http://digital-lifestyles.info/display_page.asp?section=platforms&id=2461

It has a weaker 520Mhz processor and lacks the integrated graphics chip, but it has lots of good stuff that I don't see in other handhelds. Has a 1.3 megapixel camera and doubles as a phone. I imagine that the keyboard will be great for programming as well, apart from possibly doubling as buttons for games.

I've seen some of the new Palms, and I've seen someone with a LifeDrive not too long ago. The jumbo screen and memory capacity are nice, but I want a camera >_<
