It's great when you hear about really famous foreign bands (that no-one has ever heard about elsewhere - apart from on that show EuroTrash). There is this one singer from France (Johnny Holiday or somesuch) that no-one has ever heard of, but is like a mega-star there (funny when you consider how close they are to us). I saw a program once with pictures and video of him with Elvis, Hendrix, the lot. Normally he opened for them in France, but now and again bands like that opened for him. A couple of years ago the Rolling stones had to cancel a couple of days from concerts in Paris because of lack of ticket sales. This bloke had them fully sold out for like weeks. The Rolling stones for god sake......

Heh, what was more amusing is he got famous for basically copying other peoples music. Most funny was a french version of Hey Jude (class song), which was called "Hey Joe" I believe
