Anyone know where I can get a lib (DLL or lib for C++) that will copy data off a disk, Not the files, Not the TOC and files and other junk into an image file, every bit of data, untampered with and not changed in any way into one simple file. I basically want to be able to edit the direct data of a CD/DVD in a hex editor and then burn back so I can expierement.
Thankyou for any help you can provide.

Note: Don't want to have to pay for anything.

... but it requires nero

i think you can read directly off the disk if you open to read it, with the device as the source - not sure thought, go and look on msdn

Well, you could use Nero to turn the CD into a NRG/ISO file and read that. Dunno how similar those are to the final thing though. CDJ/CDI should be exact copies of the disks.

The only freeware lib for this (that I'm aware of) is the opensource cdio, but I don't know if it has a Windows port. It was used on DCEmu (spanish dreamcast emulator) to read CDs.

you probably did not search enough.

there is a program called burn for free
and i found this whilst trying to find a similar dll

this might be part of your problem solved.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

I am looking for something that can burn and read a little more specific than that. I found some programs like that yes but they don't do enough for me. Thanks anyway though.
