Probably my favourite of all is 2d fighting games (when done properly, like most of the efforts of Capcom and SNK)

But I am very partial to 3rd person action/platform games when done well (mario 64, max payne, re:code veronica, all different but fit the bill), and arcade style racers (esp Burnout Series, Daytona, Outrun).

When I get sucked into an RPG game I love them, especially turn based ones with a real sense of progression in your skills, stats etc. (Eg FFVII, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Pokemon Blue/Red) But I have to say, 99% of them DON'T hold my attention so I couldn't call it my favourite genre as a whole

The decent kind of role playing game....Like Final Fantasy, Lord of the Rings: third age, Jade Cacoon, Zelda etc. and not like Baulders Gate, Neverwinter nights etc. (Although they are good, but no favourites )

My favourrites are all of these:

First-person shooter(Perfect Dark Zero, Half-Life, Far Cry(Xbox), Halo)

Adventure(The Harry Potter Games! Except the fourth... Blinx, and probably a few more I can't remember)

Stealth(Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is the bestest!)

Third-person shooters(Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon)

And

Interactive movies(Fahrenheit(Indigo Prophecy for the Yanks), the best 6 hours of gaming in my life )

If we did, I never saw it.

Recently, there was "favorite GAME by genre", which didn't ask for favorite genre, just favorite games in genres.

Then back in feb 2004, there was a thread like this one called "favourite game genre", but that was nearly two years ago.

Megaton Cat, learn how to use the search function, noob.

I like most action/adventure/rpg/strategy stuff. I mostly just don't like sports, some fighting, and some puzzle.

Um, Currently i like First-Person-Chewers or Eat-Em-Ups (Been playing Stubbs too much, sorry.)

But honestly, i love FPS games. Most notably Halo 1(Xbox), Half-Life 2 (Xbox) and Deus Ex: Invisible War (Xbox)

Yet i also love the 3rd person games, like Stubbs The Zombie In: Rebel Without A Pulse(Xbox) Fable(Xbox) and Destroy All Humans!(Xbox)

Who could live without The Movies(PC) though, eh?

I say exactly what's on my mind, like "Imagine your grandpa in a speedo" or "I eat Jell-O while waxing the table" and my personal favorite, "I drink bathtub water"

RPG, all the way, but I'm sure everybody knew that. I was raised on Ultima. And Ultima Online brought something new to the table. My heart would actually beat faster when I got in a fight. I had to quit that crap, though, it was taking all of my time.

I love RTS too. The Warcraft games...

I'll play just about anything with my son, though. I can usually give him a run for his money. We usually play NFL Street.

- Survival Horror, baby!
- FPS', although I reckon the genre is a little over-populated
- Adventure, but only because of Indigo Prophecy. Most of the other adventure games nowadays suck.
- Third-person Shooters; I imported Pursuit Force, it's really good.

If anyone loves Splinter Cell: Chaos Theorey, whats the best stats they had on a mission. The best mission i did was the last level:

I did the entire mission without knocking out one person, or killing anyone, all the mission objectives were complete, and i got 100% success rating, on normal difficulty.

Beat that.
