After Installing Mandrake Linux I rebooted back to windows. The quick launch toolbar was stretched right across and now open programs don't show on the taskbar. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated,

Mike

Right mouse button on the start bar, untick the Lock the Taskbar option. You should then be able to move it. I also doubt Linux would have that particular effect on windows

try a system restore to the last known change maybe? often it`s some demo or badly written program messes up windoze, atm I have background task icons that won`t show up in the bottom right, some winderz stupidity I think, they are running in task manager, they are supposed to be visible according to the taskbar manager, but they aint, I guess M$ has broken something with a update of some sort, or maybe it`s some aspect of w!ndows being "helpful" without asking

[edit] NO! it isn`t the system tray cleanup tool before anyone mentions it, I have it turned off.

Windows: 32 bit extension/graphical shell for a 16bit patch to an 8bit OS originally coded for a 4bit CPU, written by a 2bit company that can't stand 1bit of competition, now available in 64bits.

Yup I've asked google and to no avail. It only happened after I installed Mandrake Linux, which is strange because it was on a different hdd. I've taken Linux off which was a complete pig, and formatted the hdd that it was on. I've even run a complete Windows Repair to see if it would fix it. Still the same problem.

Anyone else had this happen to them before?

Wooohooo Proplem fixed. Found the "Taskbar Repair Kit" and it fixed it for me. It may even fix your problem Me!. The repair kit can be found here:
