Ok supposively the Dark Basic that I got supports multiplayer/online.

I have tried the example codes inside the dark basic tutorials but they did not seem to work. I also tried quaththeravens code but it did not work for me either.

Can someone give me a full working example for online game.
Like maybe a chat thing or something.

All I am really trying to use it for right now is to establish a connection to my server or whatever. (An online page in my game)

Please some one talented help me out.

Thanks

Do you have DarkBASIC + Dark Matter, or DarkBASIC Pro? Those are the only two things I am aware of that support multiplayer.

If so, well then obviously something entirely different is the problem, and someone else will have to help you there

Um, Like I bought the $49.00 DarkBasic.
When I load it, it says that it is enhanced and it supports multiplayer. It also has examples in it and it says so on DarkBasic.com

Maybe you could help me out.
All I am looking for is maybe a simple chat thing. Something that is complete and working that I can learn from.

Thanks

SmokieMcPot:

That may be the problem then...I'm only going on what I've read, but here is my admittedly not-very-personally-experienced understanding of the matter:

To be able to use the multiplayer features of DarkBASIC, you need something called the "DB Enhancement Pack" - which does not by default come with DarkBASSIC (the normal $39/$49 version). The only way to get it is to buy DarkMATTER; the details of this all are found at this website: http://www.darkbasic.com/darkmatter/dbep.php

From there:
Quote: "DarkMATTER includes an exclusive upgrade for the DarkBASIC Programming Language called the DarkBASIC Enhancement Pack. This pack adds many new and exciting advanced features to DarkBASIC including:

Multi-player support for LAN/Internet based games

...[snip]...

The DarkBASIC Enhancement Pack will upgrade any full version of DarkBASIC * to v1.1, adding over 190 new commands to V1.08. DarkBASIC is a product of DarkBASIC Software Ltd and more information can be found at www.darkbasic.com

Complete syntax list follows:

..."

So I'm afraid that might be your problem right there :\

You don't need to buy DarkMATTER ($39.99) since the Enhancement Pack is available on its own ($19.99).

Ogres have layers.

Jeesh, seems the matter is considerably more complicated than does it or does it not have multiplayer support - apparently everything does, they just don't all have the same commands. *faints*

They could stand to make the websites just a weeeee bit more clear...
