I just can't contain my excitement. My first PC was a 486-DX 33 with a n $800 CD-ROM drive, and some of my earliest memories of it were playing those cheesy and crappy full motion video games.

Anyways, we have an internal classifieds Outlook group at work, and check out what I just picked up for free:

Lol cool, some of those old FMV games were great in a rubbish kinda way - I had a star wars one, rebel assault I think it was called. I also liked the conversions of Dragon's Lair, Space Ace and Time Gal. Did you ever play phantasmagoria? it was hilariously badly acted

7th Guest was un-be-lievably bad. Good thing we had a dual-speed CDROM drive and not a single speed drive, as well as a Cirrus Logic 512k Video card, otherwise we may not have been able to play the damn thing. Phew, dodged a bullet there.

There are apps for slowing a computer down (Moslow was one, I think). If they were properly programmed with timer-based movement just DOSBox should be necessary.

I actually LOVED the 7th Guest--- I still listen to the music on a regular basis

Phantasmagoria--- that one was more.... umm.... lame and badly acted :-P

Hopefully these run on my new computer. Deadly Tide should for sure as it's DirectX-based. The other one is DOS-based so I will most likely have a bigger headache with that. But like TK said I can just use DOSBox and increase or decrease the speed as necessary.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

pandora...
I had a demo on that, long time ago. Why is it that all the good games are old, but annoying in re-plays? I mean storys are often great, ideas are still kinda unique, and there are several hours of game play.

Yet something always gets annoying... don't know what it is, probally the predictablity. Yeah, that probally is it. I have a good memory, some how I remeber where things are even though I haven't playied in a year or so. (I hate that)

Its a shame that, what with the emphasis on overclocking, you cant underclock modern processors down to 25Mhz for classic games... I never had a PC in those days, was more of an Amiga-boy. We did "inherit" a 486 25Mhz though, running Win 3.1 (in all its sucky-glory). When we got a proper PC I ended up installing linux on this machine. Took about 12 hours, but it got there

My favourite mid-90's game was definately the 'Neverhood'. (1995 or 1996?) I got them demo of that with my second PC - a 150mhz Windows 95 . Just last year, I managed to track down an original mint-condition version of it on eBay (box and everything).

PLayed it for a bit. But the puzzles are way too messed up to understand (though I do like the water puzzle with the musical tubes, anyone who's played it will know what I mean)

Dragon's Lair and Space Ace are now available as DVD Games, playable in any DVD player, PS2, xbox or pc - anyone actually tried them to see if they are good? If the video quality has been remastered I may well consider buying them as I have seen them on ebay for less than a fiver each

I *really* want to get a copy of that. Since 7th Guest was my favourite FMV game from back in the day, the 11th Hour would be cool to play. My rich friend owned it when it came out but I never got around to borrowing it. All I remember from it is the intro sequence with the main character riding a motorcycle.

And again--- owned by my same rich buddy. His parents bought him absolutely any and every game he wanted.

He even ordered the full versions of the entire Epic MegaGames library (i.e. Jazz Jackrabbit, OMF 2097, Epic Pinball, etc.) Lucky guy.

When I was shopping with him and his parents at Costco back in '90 or '91 we came across a double-pack for $20--- containing Laura Bow - Colonel's Bequest and Quest for Glory 2. What a great deal--- and his parents bought it for me too
