Hi all,

I have a problem, I'm addicted to the series Lost, and although it's shown every week in the UK, well I got greedy and could'nt abide by the waiting a whole week nonsense, so I've been downloading episodes like an impatient git. So now I'm upto date with the American schedule, but for the last 2 weeks there's been no episodes at all for me to download.

Are they taking a break for christmas, or are they trying to ruin my life? - they had a little break a couple of months ago for a cliffhanger, but I've no idea what's up this time. Could any charitable American Lost fan fill me in on what they're doing.

Please no spoilers though, remember the UK is only about 3/4 through series 1 while it's actually on episode 10 of series 2 in the US.

Van - dont feel bad... Everyone at work, including myself, are doing the same. I'm up to the third ep in series 2. I wont spoil anything - but I will say I personally think it gets DAMN good after the end of Series 1.. It was a nice touch, finding the Loch Ness Monster in the sea.... err.. whoops...

Supposedly they're doing re-runs till the new year, Something like Jan 6th (so I've heard)

I think there's 26 episodes in a series, and yeah, Lost get's damn interesting real soon for the non-downloaders . I found the cliffhanger went on a bit long at the start of series 2, but it's very cool when you eventually get to see what's behind the hatch.

Apparantly they intend to make like 5 series, so it should go on and on, there's no way Michael and crew will go back to the island after finding those amazonian lesbians! .

I'm thinking they must be having a break for the holidays, damn they should have made a christmas special - like they discover the true meaning of christmas when the 'others' offer them some roasted polar bear.

Yeah, fixed that .

Incidently, my fave character has to be Hurley, he's like Mikey from American Chopper . Who's yours?

I absolutely love Lost and couldn't help peeking at an episode guide for last few episodes for series 1 - looks like it's revving up for a great few episodes in near future.

Hurley is also my fave character. That 'numbers' episode was great with him being the focus of the flashbacks.

My freeview coverage in my new house is a bit dodgy until I get a new aerial on the roof, so I am missing E4 channel where thay show next episode of Lost straight after channel4 show on Wednesdays. Grrrrrr.

Boo!

Yeah, don't say anything. I currently have to keep putting my music on loud at work because of people yapping about it.

And they are probably on a xmas break. A lot of american stuff does for a month or so around this time. Whereas we rarely break at all, unless we are very close to the US broadcast dates. Dark Angel was a good example, where we started something like 3 months behind, but ended up only about 2 weeks off come the end in february. They have quite a few gaps here and there basically.

Cheers

Hurley is BRILLIANT.. I love his flashback episode. Seeing him running to get his plain and buying that scooter off the man who had recently had a hip replacement!! I have never noticed the Mikey similarity, but you're right!

Locks good - its interesting to see his history unfold. I dont know about you, but I really start to sort of "believe" his history. It really helps to explain his character.

I think the whole thing has been really well written.

I also like that you can watch the same episode twice and notice different things, for example, when you see Jins flashback where he has to go to that house to kill that man and ends up not only letting him live, but gains a pet dog... Well the girl on the sofa was watching the news and if you look carefully, you see Hurley getting arrested

You also see Sawyer getting dragged through the Aussie police station while Boon was trying to get the police involved with his "sisters" boyfriend problem.

Yes, Lost has been put on hold until mid January, I believe. Same with CSI.

The only two (if you count all the CSI's as one) programs I watch.

And Hurley is cool, but I like Sayid and I have a fondness for the mysteries surrounding Walt. I mean - he's just not right, is he? That, and *a character I can't name for the series one people*
and Locke are cool too.

Ah heck, the only ones I don't like are her with the bairn, and the whiney girl. But that's ok.

Lost is good. But I thought House was the best series of 2005. Brilliant stuff.

I love Lost, unfortunately I only started to like it in the mid-end of the 1st season, so I never got to see those other episodes.

A-L = Anna Lucia?

Hmm, it seems my IP address changed to 48.151.623.42...

Lost is a great show, but I don't think it quite deserves its massive popularity, especially compared to some other great series' like Prison Break, 24 and (bite me) Veronica Mars.

It's just pretty obvious at this point that they don't have rational answers to some of the big mysteries, and they're taking so bloody long to get anywhere. It seems like they're planning on stretching a series worth of plot out over three or four, just because the fan base will wait that long.

Still, every Thursday I start downloading the torrents the moment they're online . The break has been kind of killing me though, I'm used to having a Lost and VM fix, or at least one of the two, once a week. Oh well... they'll return soon.

I really like her character, after her flashback episode, that made her a lot more sympathetic (obviously it was supposed to though). Personally I think Jack is far more annoying with his hero complex and his frequent blinking... and Charlie with his recycled character dynamic

That's a cool show, except I can't stand the main character. He seems to only have one facial expression.

I have no ideas why they delay Lost overseas--- I feel bad for you guys :-| However, having Extras not even released on our side of the world makes up for it a little

BTW--- is Extras Season 2 out in the UK yet or what?

I'm in Okinawa, and my wife and I are hooked. We have to wait for the season to come out on DVD. That sucks.

It's the same with 24. Our plan was to watch an episode a day. We ended up watching like 24 hours straight. Our kids were angry.

Nah it's being written at the moment but they've revealed some of the people guest starring in it (obviously they had to get them to agree before they started writing it)

Brad Pitt and Madonna are doing it if I remember correctly. I think Ricky Gervais got them to agree to it at Live 8.

Also, I think HBO bought Extras and will be showing it in America (thought they had already) and they also bought the second series without seeing the first (first time they'd ever done that)

Does anyone know if there's going to be a third series of Arrested Development?

I find Lockes new pal to be a bit irritating, far too mysterious, maybe it'll make more sense when we see the pre-crash stuff about him.

Locke is cool though, and Walt is a strange one, I think they're both connected with the island like Hurley. It's great though that a show like Lost is so popular with normal folk, if it was only popular with sci-fi fans then it'd probably be cancelled like Firefly . I just hope the dragging does'nt continue too much, like most of series 2 is going quite slowly - the next episode is gonna be special I think, going by episode 9 anyway .

I read somewere that they cancelled it, my freind LOVED it. Apparently it's like Malcolm in the Middle, right? I don't know, I don't cable. I think it's a waste of money(but to each his own).

Now that's a damn good show. I hadn't seen it before Serenity (awesome movie), but got the DVD set after and I'm watching it now. Very enjoyable indeed.

Just wanted to say I finished season 1 today. I'd recommend buying the DVD's Van, might be your best bet. Obviously you'd have to order them from here, or at least I'm assuming so, but it's well worth it.

*sniff* Such a shame. And apparently the film didn't do well enough to warrant a sequel. I tried, I really did - I went to see it twice!

Firefly was made in 2002... we only saw it recently on the sci-fi channel because of the movie.

Yeah, bizarrely, seeing as not only did the critics adore it but it was quite simply one of the best sci-fi/action films in decades. Okay, okay... IMO.

I heard they're considering a made-for-TV sequel. It'd be a shame to force them to work with a lower budget, but Firefly did quite well for itself with that. Guess we'll see. Even if it ends at Serenity, that's a nice closing note, a great film like that. Better than taking it the direction of The Matrix.

lost season 2 is very good so far, i keep track of us timeslots and most shows have ended for christmas. they will start again 1st-2nd week in jan (including new seasons of hiatias stuff e.g. scrubs).

couple of urls for tv dates and what episodes:
http://www.pogdesign.co.uk/cat/ filter by tv show - very good site
http://www.epguides.com/grid/ very detailed site with a general guide of whats on.

if you want evil www.tv.com cnet took over tvtome and replaced it with that rubbish.

btw last year lost did have a christmas special it's sayid's episode "the greater good" aka sides 1x20, which just aired wednesday just gone in the uk. so we're only a few weeks away from ending.
