does dbc support height maps? if so,how would you use them?

It doesn't support it internally. But you can load them and get the height of every single dot on the image using point(), rgbr(), rgbg() and rgbb().

If you want to create a matrix with it, you use
set matrix height() and update matrix afterwards.

If you want a .X world, you got to have the enhanced version and use memblocks, which are pretty hard to learn.

[edit] Oh, and it's very slow when using matrices. It's faster doing it with memblocks.

I happen to know how to use memblocks yes.
And using .X files as a terrain means that you create the terrain like any other object file in milkshape, anim8or, etc. These can be constructed by memblocks too BTW, but It'll be much easier just loading them.
