DarkBASIC Discussion / I need help really bad

Ok this is how it goes i just got darkbasic classic, and well im having a slight...ly huge problem every time i try and compile doesnt matter wat it is even the whole
print "hello world" says this error message "System Error: surfaces could not be created. Failed tp create a d3d device from backbuffer surface." now it could just be that im new to this but i have no F-in clue were this error pertains to so i would appretiate sum help either by telling me how to fix it, or were DB has a troubleshooting page.

stupidity got me into tis mess why cant it get me out?

Do you have a 3D graphic card that doesn't use software rendering?
Do you have directX 7 or higher?

it also might be that you have an older graphics driver, try updating it(if you dont have that latest version )

Yknow, I got this error too I think. I solved it by specifying an editor to all the file formats (media > specify an editor). It didn't even matter which exe it was.

But then again, that was my old pc, they're supposed to do weird.

Are you using an ATI Rage 3D Pro card? For some reason, they just don't do DarkBASIC Classic. I had one, and a few others who got the same error as you on the forums have had them too. No go.

(To find out your system specs, click Start, click Run. Type 'dxdiag' (without the apostrophes (')), and then click OK. If it asks you to check if your drivers are WHQL-certified tell it to shove it.)
